The Louisiana Legislature has named the Peggy Martin Rose the Official State Rose of Louisiana! 🌹🌹🌹
Congratulations to our friend Peggy Martin on this well-deserved honor. Known for its remarkable survival after Hurricane Katrina, the Peggy Martin Rose has become a symbol of resilience, perseverance, and hope. What began as a rose growing in Plaquemines Parish has inspired gardeners and communities across the country and now holds a special place as an official symbol of our state.
Like the people of Louisiana, the Peggy Martin Rose has weathered storms, overcome adversity, and continued to flourish. We couldn't think of a more fitting rose to represent the spirit of Louisiana.

Virginia Spiderwort (Tradescantia virginiana) is a versatile plant that attracts pollinators. The flowers open in the morning and fade by the afternoon. But there are more buds waiting, keeping it blooming from March to August.

Lord Baltimore is waking up! This is a hardy hibiscus the will make dinner plate-sized red flowers all summer long. It dies back in winter but emerges each spring and will grow to as much as 5 feet tall. It makes quite a statement.
