It seems like every time we try to photograph a flower, we get photo bombed by a bumble bee. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised - bumble bee colonies will be reaching their maximum size about now. In a couple more months, the future queens will find a place to overwinter and the rest of the colony will die out. If you want a lot of bumble bees in your garden, remember to leave them some undisturbed ground for overwintering and nesting; these beautiful little ladies like things a bit messy.
