This week we kick off September with the first Ag Coffee Support Hour in Contra Costa County!

This Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 at the Knightsen Farm Bureau Hall, technical assistance providers from CCRCD, USDA-NRCS, and UCCE will begin to convene on the first Wednesday of every month to meet and connect with growers to learn where support is needed.

Light refreshments will be provided. No RSVP required.

Kicking off shortly after the Crockett Waterfront Coastal Cleanup Day event, there will be local vendors, live music, CREEC’s famous vegan carrot-dogs, food+drink, hands-on workshops, and more! Come wander the gardens, learn about our natural environment, and celebrate the season with your neighbors!

Join us on Saturday, September 27th from 9am-12pm, to help clean up McNabney Marsh for Coastal Cleanup Day!

This is a marsh close to the waterfront, so please dress for windy weather and wear clothes that can get wet and/or muddy. Wear long pants, durable shoes, and sun protection (hat and/or sunscreen). Please bring a reusable water bottle if you have one. Snacks and water will be provided.

The Contra Costa Resource Conservation District recently formed a Beaver Ad Hoc Committee to educate internal staff interested in beaver education, advocacy, coexistence, restoration, and their role in healthy watersheds!

At this meeting, we will be joined by Heidi Perryman, Ph.D., a child psychologist who became an accidental beaver advocate when beavers moved into her home town in 2006. She then served on a beaver subcommittee to help the city decide how to respond and started the organization “Worth A Dam” to coordinate solutions and educate others about their value in the watershed.

Join us for this special presentation at our upcoming meeting on Wednesday, August 26th from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
