Join the Guild of Quilters of Contra Costa County for our February Zoom meeting with guest speaker Ellen Lindner!

"Confessions of a Fabric Whisperer" with Ellen Lindner
When: Tuesday, February 17, 2026
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00PM (PDT)
Via Zoom - Register here: https://gqccc.org/event-5784584
Fee: Members are free; Non-members are $10

What do 750 pins, window screening, and paint have in common? They’ve all been creatively—and sometimes wildly—used by Ellen Lindner in her art quilts. Ellen will share an amusing look at some of the wacky things she’s tried over the years, from successful experiments to “rough drafts,” and explain why even the missteps are valuable. Her fearless approach to experimentation is both inspiring and entertaining.

A former flight instructor, Ellen didn’t begin making art until her forties. After learning the basics, she quickly began experimenting and, over time, developed her own fabric collage technique. More recently, she has been dyeing all of her own fabric and working abstractly—something she finds especially challenging, which is exactly why she loves it. Ellen regularly participates in juried shows and has won numerous awards across the country.

Now teaching at a much lower altitude, Ellen shares her expertise through online classes, her appearances on Quilting Arts TV (PBS) and The Quilt Show, and through her writing. She is the author of two eBooks and several published articles.
