We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our Summer Soirée last week at Fountaingate Gardens! Great food, wonderful company, lots of laughter, and a special appearance from Elvis himself of More Elvis Tribute - Paul Wyle, who had everyone all shook up with an unforgettable performance. Fountaingate Gardens members laced up for an energizing boxing fitness session with professional boxer, Johnathan Arroyo with Arroyo Boxing Club.

The class delivered a dynamic mix of conditioning, coordination drills and foundational boxing techniques designed to boost strength, agility and confidence at any fitness level. Our members brought great energy and enthusiasm throughout the session, making it a standout wellness experience.

Our Fountaingate Gardens members had a whale-y good time at the Whale Watching in Long Island Waters lecture with Dr. Marianne McNamara! They dove right in and got totally hooked on all things sea-sational—learning about the gentle giants that cruise through our local waters, their fin-tastic migration journeys and how they navigate the big blue like true ocean pros.

There were plenty of “shell-ebration” moments as we surfaced with new knowledge. Safe to say… we’re feeling a little more “current” on whale facts now!

Fountaingate Gardens hosted a lively Staff Jeopardy Challenge that brought plenty of energy and friendly competition to the day! Two teams of staff went head-to-head in a fun-filled showdown, and the members truly enjoyed cheering them on and watching the action unfold.

From quick thinking to lots of laughter, it was a great reminder of the strong sense of community and connection that makes days like this so special.

We’re proud to recognize our member Bonnie Soman, whose letter, “A life plan complex is the best alternative,” was featured in Wednesday’s Newsday Opinion section.

Drawing from her personal experience as a member of our Life Plan Community, Fountaingate Gardens, Bonnie shared her perspective on the benefits of planning ahead for retirement living. Her thoughtful commentary highlights the value of a Life Plan Community that offers independence, peace of mind, and access to a continuum of care—all in one place.

Last Tuesday, our member-run Book Club gathered for another engaging discussion! We shared insights, explored different perspectives, discussed favorite characters and themes and enjoyed meaningful conversations with fellow readers. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the meeting such a success. We look forward to our next literary adventure together at Fountaingate Gardens! The book read was "Song for the Brokenhearted" by Ayelet Tsabari.
