Faith, Democracy, and Shared Values.

Abraham’s Table of Long Island presents We Hold These Truths: How Abrahamic Values Help Shape Our Democracy… A Conversation and Celebration of America at 250. Three panelists representing each Abrahamic religion will focus the discussion on which Abrahamic values underpin democracy throughout history and how they differ from American values.

The panelists are:

-Rabbi Lina Zerbarini, Kehillath Shalom Synagogue and member of the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission
-Rev. Kate Jones Calone, Executive Presbyter and Stated Clerk, the Presbytery of Long Island
-Dr. Mostafa El Sehamy, PhD, PG, Suffolk County Muslim Advisory Board and Masjid Darul Quran, Bay Shore

We are proud to announce that Ashley Palmer, a Universal Preschool Head Teacher at the SYJCC Early Learning Center, was nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year Award! Jennifer Hagemann, the parent of a student, nominated Miss Ashley for the award.

Organized by the National Life Group, the LifeChanger of the Year Award provides financial support for K-12 teachers nationwide. A selection committee of prior LifeChanger of the Year winners and higher education professionals chooses each year’s winners.
