The Shamrock Club of Columbus is a Not-for-Profit Social Organization founded to organize and sponsor the annual St Patrick's Day Parade in Columbus, Ohio. The Shamrock Club provides members a wide range of events and activities. Many of these activities are family friendly with the playground and shelter house on the club's spacious grounds. The Shamrock Club sponsors live Irish music in the pub,

dart leagues, live entertainment and much more. Members enjoy community events, special events, annual events, and many friendships. The most important of these club sponsored events is the annual St. Patrick's Day celebration on March 17th (whether it is a week day or if it falls on a weekend). Patrick is celebrated each year by the Shamrock Club with a procession to Mass, Mass, Parade and the annual Irish Family Reunion.

Congratulations for 20 years of Flag Day at the Shamrock Club of Columbus! Thank you Tom Byrne.

On the 14th of June, Congress made the Flag Resolution of 1777, stating: “The flag of the United States shall be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white on a blue field …” The official announcement of the new flag was not made until Sept. 3, 1777.

”Flag Day” has been celebrated as a patriotic occasion for many decades, but President Woodrow Wilson made the observance official.
