Practicing Detroit Anthropology Learning Community: An Integrated Research and Learning Experience

The practicing Detroit Anthropology Learning Community helps its students gain knowledge and skills in the classroom and the broader metro Detroit community. With Detroit-focused coursework and urban service learning projects, we offer these experiences close to campus. This LC provides an opportuni

ty for students to apply what they learned in cultural anthropology and urban archaeology classes to an Anthropology of the City project. Students work on an urban revitalization effort, where they learn about urban cultural anthropology, archaeology, community partnerships, project planning and fundraising.
