It is with profound sorrow that AMVETS mourns the tragic loss of American service members in the Middle East, whose lives were cut short in the line of duty.

These brave soldiers embodied the unyielding spirit of our nation’s finest, stepping forward to protect freedom and democracy in some of the world’s most challenging environments. Their sacrifices remind us of the heavy cost of peace and the enduring commitment required to safeguard our way of life.

We also extend our deepest condolences and unwavering respect to the newest members of a solemn community no one ever wishes to join: the Gold Star families. These families have given more than most can fathom, bearing the unimaginable pain of loss while carrying forward the legacy of their loved ones’ heroism. In their grief, we see the quiet strength that defines America, and we pledge to stand beside them, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

As AMVETS National Commander Paul Shipley reflects: “The valor of our fallen warriors lights the path for generations to come. They did not seek glory, but in their selfless service, they achieved it eternally. To their families, You are not alone. The entire veteran community wraps you in gratitude and support, honoring the profound debt we owe.”

In this moment of remembrance, let us renew our commitment to those still deployed around the globe. Reach out, send a message of encouragement, and wear red every Friday to show your pride in our troops outwardly. Together, we can ensure they feel the full force of a grateful nation’s backing as they continue their vital missions.
