We avoided the rain and had some great chats with neighbors at the first Clintonville Farmers Market of 2026. People were interested in learning about the upcoming primary election on May 5, and particularly about Issue 5 (https://cbussafety.org/)

Shoot us an email at clintonvilleareaprogressives at gmail dot com if you'd like to help us staff our farmers market booth some Saturday morning this year.

Thanks to everyone who came out to last night's meeting, which was jam-packed with great info on how to get involved in local community efforts.

We welcomed Chana Wiley with Columbus Safety Collective, who discussed their efforts to reform emergency response in Columbus (initiative on the ballot on May 5). Check them out here: https://cbussafety.org/

We heard from Jan Phillips with FILA, who shared ways that we can support our immigrant neighbors: https://firstuucolumbus.org/fila-immigration-assistance/

Our friend Will Easton shared info about and passed petitions for Our City, Our Say, which seeks to reform Columbus City Council elections around a district-based system.

CAP member Sarah-Jane Workman provided a exciting updates on Friends of the Sawmill Wetlands, which our organization has supported.

And finally Sarah Ingles for Columbus City Schools came by to promote an upcoming meeting at East High School to discuss the future of Columbus City Schools (April 16 at 6pm)

Our next meeting will be a happy hour at El Vaquero sometime in May (TBD) and be sure to save the date for our summer cookout on Wednesday, June 10. More soon!

Wednesday, January 7th, an American citizen was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
A broad coalition of groups across the country is calling for a coordinated Ice Out For Good Weekend of Action on Saturday, January 10th and Sunday, January 11th to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.
A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events should be held in public spaces or on public property.
Indivisible is managing data and communications with participants. By registering, you agree to receive info from Indivisible about the event, receive communications via e-mail or SMS message from Indivisible, and receive any other updates and opportunities to take action or support ICE OUT FOR GOOD partner organizations. You also agree to have any data entered in this registration collected by Indivisible. Indivisible will treat your data according to our organization’s applicable privacy policy: https://indivisible.org/privacy-policy
