EQUIP Skills Center

EQUIP Skills Center Equip Skills Center is a non-profit training center for 14-19 year-olds in Columbus OHIO.

Our mission is to help students identify and cultivate mechanical gifting, and equip them to be valuable to an employer and their community. The Trade Center is a non profit program to help students Identify and Cultivate being gifted with their hands. The intro class is the first class and is 6 weeks long, 1 day a week, from 4:00-5:30. The program is available to all 11-19yr old students with the firsts seats open to "at risk" youth.

Yesterday I had the honor of accepting the Columbus City Schools Career Tech Forward 2026 Award on behalf of Equip Skills Center! Thank you Columbus City Schools!
Truly, this recognition goes to our instructors, who have VOLUNTEERED over 300 hours of their time since the start of the school year to train and mentor local teens.

As demand for skilled trades continues to grow and career center capacity remains limited, we're proud to provide hands-on opportunities to anyone 14-19 years old who wants to discover whether a career in the trades is right for them.

It's been a big week at Equip with lots to celebrate! 9 students completed our 6-week Intro Auto Repair class AND we graduated 9 students from our Auto Repair Pre-apprenticeship program 😁 🏅
