MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS MUSICIAN: OLIVIA VANDERFORD 🎶

She's sung at the Nebraska State Capitol. She's performed the National Anthem at the state wrestling championships in Omaha. And on September 19, Olivia Vanderford is bringing her voice to downtown Columbus!

Olivia is an Agricultural Communications student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a member of UNL's Big Red Singers and host of The Engler Journey podcasts, sharing the stories of students with a passion for agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Her Nebraska roots run deep. Olivia spent 10 years showing pigs in 4-H, grew up traveling the state with her family on “Pure Nebraska” shoots for 10/11 News and now serves as Miss Fremont.

We're excited to add Olivia's voice to the incredible variety of talent you'll discover during Fall for the Arts!

Meet Fall for the Arts musician Dr. Oscar Vazquez Medrano!

From Mexico to the United States to Slovakia, Dr. Oscar Vazquez Medrano has shared his talents as an accomplished pianist with audiences around the world — and we're fortunate to have him right here in Columbus!

Oscar is the owner and primary instructor at Vazquez Music Studio in downtown Columbus, teaches piano at Central Community College, accompanies choirs and frequently performs at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.

A specialist in the music of Mexican composer Manuel M. Ponce, he also serves as an editor and guest artist for The Ponce Project. His performances feature a special focus on Mexican and Spanish music, along with the works of Chopin and Liszt.

MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS ARTIST: CLYDE ERICSON

For the past 10 years, Clyde Ericson has helped Scotus Central Catholic students explore their creativity as an art teacher. But when he's not teaching others, Clyde continues creating artwork of his own.

Raised in Osceola, Nebraska, Clyde earned his degree in art education from Concordia University, Nebraska. His own artwork demonstrates plenty of variety, including detailed ink drawings, watercolor and colorful landscapes.

We're excited to have this local artist, educator and active member of our community joining us for Fall for the Arts!

MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS MUSICIANS: LOS JUNIORS

They only met in 2025. They're both self-taught. And their musical journey is just getting started.

Meet Los Juniors — Juan and David, two Columbus-born Mexican-American musicians brought together by a shared love of music and culture.

At just 14, Juan has already been playing accordion for four years and is gaining plenty of experience on stage. David, who also began playing music at a young age, brings the distinctive sound of the bajo quinto to the duo.

Together, they've gone from playing family gatherings and parties to booking larger events — all while Juan balances high school and David balances college, work and his Mechanical Engineering studies.

We can't wait for you to hear them during Fall for the Arts!

THE STAGE BELONGS TO THE STUDENTS!

At Central Community College, theatre students don't have to wait years for their opportunity to perform.

From the beginning, students can audition, act, design, direct and take meaningful roles in fully staged productions while learning from experienced faculty.

And on September 19, some of that talent is coming to Fall for the Arts!

The CCC Theatre program welcomes students with all kinds of goals — from those hoping to pursue theatre professionally or transfer to a four-year school to students who simply want to build confidence, communication skills and experience performing in front of an audience.

Students pursuing any degree can get involved, and theatre scholarships are available.

We're excited to have CCC Theatre as part of a festival that celebrates not only established artists and performers, but also the next generation of people discovering where the arts might take them.
