A Huge THANK YOU from the Platte County Food Pantry!

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year’s Can Care-A-Van a success. We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers, businesses, organizations, and individuals who donated food, funds, and their time to our annual food drive, and to KOLN/KGIN for sponsoring this event every year.

Without your generosity and support, we could not continue helping our friends and neighbors who have fallen on tough times.

Over the past five years, the Platte County Food Pantry has assisted an average of 2,500 people each year with their grocery needs. While the Can Care-A-Van is an important part of keeping our shelves stocked, it is only one piece of the ongoing effort to provide food assistance throughout the year.

Donations are always welcome! If you would like to help, you can drop off non-perishable food items during our regular pantry hours:

Monday: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

The 2026 Can Care-A-Van is quickly approaching. Please drop off your nonperishable food items or monetary donations, either on June 25th at the Pizza Ranch parking lot or you may drop them off earlier at the Platte County Food Pantry. Our hours are M & F 10-11:30 or Wed 10-11:30 & 1-3:45. Just be sure to let us know that your donations is for the Can Care-A-Van.

ATTENTION: There is a rumor that has been going around recently that we "The Platte County Food Pantry" is closing. This is NOT true!!!!
We want to take this opportunity to extend our Thank You to all of you that continue to support us with food and monetary donations so that we can continue to help those in need.

It's early, I know, but I have an idea for all of you! This year's Can Care-A-Van will be Thursday June 25th from 9:00-3:00. As usual we will be located in the Pizza Ranch Parking lot where you can drop off your donations.
So here's the idea. From now until then, when you go to the grocery store pick up just one or two extra items. (anything non-perishable). Save them in a bag or box. then you can just drop them off with the volunteers on June 25th. Start this week and you will have gathered 14 items to donate.
We (and all the families that need help) would really appreciate it.
