Next, weâre going to hear from one of our incredible volunteers, Michelle Wiese.
Michelle has experienced Kenya firsthand and has seen the impact of Operational Education Nairobi up close - meeting students, families, and witnessing what happens when education, opportunity, and community come together.
Her story is also a beautiful reminder that not everyone is called in the same way, but everyone can play a role.
Some people are called to go.
Some are called to give.
Some are called to sponsor a child.
And some are called to help share the mission and expand the impact.
There are so many meaningful ways to be part of what OEN is doing and Michelleâs story is a powerful example of what can happen when you simply say yes.
Michelle shared this beautifully:
âIâm often asked why I go to Kenya, and it began when my husband and I met Julie on a mission trip, where her story about OEN inspired us to join her there. While in Kenya, I witnessed the powerful impact of their work, meeting students and families whose gratitude deeply moved me and made me realize the question isnât âam I called,â but âhow am I called.â Walking alongside our Kenyan friends showed me the many obstacles they faceâespecially limited access to education due to financial barriers. Through this work, Iâve seen how hope grows, creating lasting change for children, families, and future generations both locally and abroad.â
Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your heart and for being such a beautiful example of what it looks like to serve with compassion and purpose.
And for everyone here. if youâre feeling inspired, there are many ways to support Operational Education Nairobi.
You can sponsor a student.
You can give financially.
You can volunteer your time.
You can join a future trip.
Or simply help us spread awareness of this mission.
Every act of support matters and together, we can continue creating opportunities that change lives for generations to come.
