A SONG OF VICTORY IN HEAVEN
Scripture Reading: Revelation 15:1–4

Family Commentary - This is a glimpse of heaven before the final judgments described in Rev. 16. John sees a great and marvelous sign: seven angels carrying the seven last plagues. These plagues represent the completion of God's wrath against a rebellious world. Yet before the final judgments unfold, John sees something wonderful. God's victorious people stand before Him and sing. Their song honors the Lord God Almighty for His great works, His righteous ways, and His holiness. This reminds us that even when the world seems filled with evil, confusion, and suffering, God remains on His throne. He has not lost control, forgotten His promises, or abandoned His purposes. The people in this passage do not praise God because life on earth has always been easy. They praise Him because He is worthy and that does not change with circumstances. As a family, we can learn to worship God in every season. We can thank Him for His goodness, trust His wisdom when we do not understand everything, and remember that His justice is always right.

Family Discussion
Q1. What do the victorious people in heaven do in Revelation 15:2–4?
A: They sing praises to God, celebrating His mighty works, holiness, righteousness, and worthiness.
Q2. Why can we praise God even when we face difficult circumstances?
A: God remains faithful, holy, powerful, and good even when our circumstances are difficult. Our confidence rests in His character.

Family Prayer - Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for being holy, mighty, and righteous. You are always in control, even when the world around us seems uncertain. Teach our family to praise You because of who You are and not only because of what You give us. Help us trust Your wisdom, obey Your Word, and remember that Your ways are always right. May our home be filled with gratitude and worship. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Family Activity: Our Family Praise List - Paper, pencils. Ask everyone to write or draw three reasons to praise God and share one reason with the family. Combine the answers into a single family praise list. Finish by reading Revelation 15:3 and thanking God together.

Family Devotion Day 5 from Pastor Marty’s Sunday sermon on October 11th, “Motivations of the Revelations”.
WHICH HARVEST WILL WE BE PART OF?
Scripture: Revelation 14:1–20, Matthew 24:44–46, Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)

Family Commentary: After reading all of Rev. 14, we see two very different pictures. There are people who belong to the Lamb. They remain faithful to Him. There are also people who follow the rebellion of the world and face God's judgment. This presents a serious contrast: faithfulness to God or rebellion against God. It is not simply about something that will happen someday. It challenges us about how we live today. Every day we make choices about whom we will follow. Will we follow Jesus when it is convenient, or will we follow Him when obedience costs us something? Will we worship God, or will we allow possessions, popularity, success, or other things to become more important than Him? The great encouragement is that Jesus knows those who belong to Him. The great warning is that rebellion against God has consequences. Our family does not have to live in fear of the future. We can live faithfully today. We can trust Christ. We can obey His Word. We can encourage one another. We can share the gospel. And we can look forward to the day when Jesus makes all things right.
Family Discussion
Q: What are the two major groups pictured in Revelation 14?
A: Those who belong to the Lamb and remain faithful to God, and those who reject God and face His judgment.
Q: What does it mean to belong to the Lamb?
A: It means to belong to Jesus Christ and place our faith in Him.

Sample Family Prayer: “Father, thank You for Your Word and for the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Help our entire family belong fully to You. Give us courage to stand when the world pressures us to compromise. Help us listen to Your warnings, live with eternal priorities, and faithfully serve You. Protect our family from deception and help us encourage one another to remain faithful. In Jesus' name, amen.”

Family Activity: Our Family Commitment: Items: One sheet of paper and pens or pencils. At the top of the paper, write: “AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.” Have every family member write his or her name underneath it. Then have each person write one specific commitment for the coming week. Place the paper somewhere the entire family will see it during the week. Then have everyone say: “Our family will remain faithful to Jesus!”

Family Devotion Day 4 from Pastor Marty’s Sunday sermon on October 11th, “Motivations of the Revelations”.
GOD'S FINAL HARVEST
Scripture: Revelation 14:14–20 (NKJV)

Family Commentary: Rev. 14 uses the powerful picture of a harvest. Anyone who has worked with plants understands the idea of harvest. Seeds are planted, crops grow, and eventually there comes a time when the harvest is gathered. The imagery points to the certainty of God's final judgment, especially describing a terrifying picture of the wicked being gathered for judgment. The imagery of the winepress communicates the seriousness and completeness of God's judgment against evil. This is not designed to make us curious about frightening details. It is designed to make us take God seriously. God is loving, but His love does not mean that sin does not matter. God is patient, but His patience should never be mistaken for approval of sin. There will ultimately be a day when God's judgment is carried out. That should cause us to examine our own lives. Are we trusting Christ? Are we walking in obedience? Are we teaching our children to know and love God's Word? For those who belong to Christ, this truth should produce confidence in God's justice. For those who reject Him, it is a serious warning. Do not play with sin. Do not ignore God's Word. Turn to Christ and remain faithful to Him.

Family Discussion
Q: What picture does Revelation use to describe the final judgment?
A: It uses the picture of a harvest and, particularly in verses 17–20, a winepress.
Q: What does this teach us about God's judgment?
A: God's judgment is real, certain, and completely just.

Sample Family Prayer: “Holy God, You are righteous and just. Help us understand the seriousness of sin and never take Your commands lightly. Thank You for the mercy You have shown us through Jesus Christ. Help our family turn away from sin and remain faithful to You. Give us compassion for people who do not know You, and help us faithfully share the good news of Jesus. Amen.”
Family Activity: The Two Paths: Items: Two pieces of paper and a few household objects. Place pieces of paper on opposite sides of the room. Label one: FOLLOW GOD. Label the other: FOLLOW THE WORLD. Place household objects between the two papers to create a simple path. Have each family member walk from the center to one of the two signs. As you do, talk about how everyday choices move us in one direction or another.

Family Devotion Day 3 from Pastor Marty’s Sunday sermon on October 11th, “Motivations of the Revelations”.
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DIE IN THE LORD
Scripture: Revelation 14:13, John 11:25–26, 1 Thess. 4:13–18 (NKJV)

Family Commentary: Rev. 14:13 contains one of the most comforting statements in this chapter. Those who die “in the Lord” are called blessed. That may sound surprising. The world often views death as
the ultimate loss. For a Christian, however, death does not have the final word. Jesus conquered death through His resurrection. Because
of Christ, believers have the hope of eternal life. This does not mean Christians should be careless about death or that grieving is wrong. God's people do grieve. But Christians grieve with hope. Those who belong to Jesus are ultimately safe in Him. These believers rest from their labors and that their works follow them. Their faithful service to God mattered. This gives our family an important perspective: What
we do for Christ matters eternally. A kind word matters. Serving someone matters. Teaching children God's Word matters. Helping someone who is hurting matters. Remaining faithful when nobody notices matters. We should not live only for things that disappear. We should live for Jesus and for the things that have eternal value.

Family Discussion
Q: Who does Revelation 14:13 call blessed?
A: Those who die in the Lord.
Q: Why can Christians have hope even when someone who loves Jesus dies?
A: Because Jesus conquered death and promises eternal life to those who belong to Him.

Sample Family Prayer: “Lord, thank You for the hope we have through Jesus. Thank You that death does not have the final victory because Jesus has conquered the grave. Help us live faithfully while we are
here. Help us spend our time serving You and loving others. Give comfort to everyone who is grieving and remind us of the hope of eternal life. In Jesus' name, amen.”

Family Activity: Eternal Treasure Hunt: Items: Small household objects and paper. Hide several ordinary objects around the house. Give clues leading to each object. After the hunt, gather together and explain: “Those objects were fun to find, but they are temporary things. Revelation reminds us that the things we do for God have eternal value.”

LISTEN TO GOD'S WARNING
Scripture: Revelation 14:6–12 (NKJV)

Family Commentary
In this passage, angels proclaim important messages to the people of the earth. Messages are warnings about judgment, false worship, and the consequences of rejecting God. Warnings are not always pleasant, but warnings can be an expression of love. A parent warns a child not to touch a hot stove because the parent wants to protect the child. A road sign warns drivers about danger ahead. A smoke alarm warns a family that something is wrong. God also warns people. He reminds us that God does not hide the seriousness of sin and judgment. He calls people to fear God, give Him glory, and worship Him. He warns against following the world and its rebellion against Him. This passage also contains an encouraging reminder for God's people: “Here is the patience of the saints.” God's people are called to patiently remain faithful. Our family should never treat God's warnings casually. When Scripture tells us something is wrong, we should listen. God's warnings are not meant to frighten us away from Him. They call us toward Him.

Family Discussion
Q: What message does the first angel proclaim?
A: The angel announces the everlasting gospel and calls people to fear God and give Him glory because the hour of His judgment has come.
Q: Why does God give warnings?
A: Because He wants people to recognize the seriousness of sin and turn to Him.

Sample Family Prayer: “Father, thank You for warning us when we are going in the wrong direction. Help us to listen to Your Word and not ignore Your warnings. Give us wisdom to recognize sin and courage to turn away from it. Help us patiently remain faithful to Jesus. In His name, amen.”

Family Activity: Warning Signs: Items: Paper and pencils. Give each family member a piece of paper. Ask them to draw a warning sign for something that could spiritually harm a person. Examples: “WARNING: Lying”, “DANGER: Bitterness”, “STOP: Disobedience”, “WARNING: Pride”. After everyone finishes, discuss what each warning means and what God's Word teaches us to do instead. Place the signs somewhere visible for the week as reminders to listen to God's warnings.
