Reminder,
Tomorrow night, Colfax-Mingo CSD meeting at 6pm, at what I call the bus barn (that's more than a bus barn), between Maverick gas station and the Colfax Historical Society.

Be there to help support the naming the Football field after Joe Laws.

Please join the members of the Colfax Historical Society & Museum, this Monday August 17th, for the Colfax-Mingo CSD school board meeting at 6pm at 1000 N Walnut.

Please come show your support for naming the Colfax-Mingo football field after Joe Laws aka "Tiger Joe”.

Joe played Football and Baseball for Colfax High School (1925-1929), and went on to play football at University of Iowa (1931-1933) and spent the remainder of his football career with the Green Bay Packers (1934-1945).

Joe was inducted into the Iowa Sports Hall of Fame in 1961, The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1972, The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Colfax-Mingo Athletes Hall of Fame in 2025.

The Colfax Historical Society has new T-shirts available in the gift shop!
Bright blue with a vintage postcard image of the Hotel Colfax.
Shirts are $15 each, sizes S-XL, with a few larger sizes available too. Gift shop is open when the museum is open: 2nd Saturday of the month 10am-2pm, and every Sunday through Labor Day 2pm-4pm.

We had another beautifully decorated building for what I heard was an amazing wedding this weekend!

I love seeing how every event decorates a little differently, allowing each unique personality to shine through.

Sadly due to the heat that's predicted on Monday, the Colfax Historical Society & Museum will be forgoing the Jasper County Fairgrounds parade this year.
Hopefully next year will be better.
