Altrusa of Council Bluffs, Iowa, contributes to be a better community through hands on service chosen specially to meet the needs of our locale. We have flexible opportunities for service and appreciate the value of our members’ time. Our club welcomes our member’s individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who share our common goals. We provide many opportunities for leadership development through community service. On September 8, 2026 our Council Bluffs, IA club had collected and donated 151 books/5 journals for the new Methodist Jennie Edmundson Behavioral Health Hospital library.

We had 21 members and 2 guests attended to place donated Altrusa Council Bluffs stickers in the books/journals.

In the meeting, Kendra Wilson walked our members around and explained the new MJE Behavioral Health Hospital.

It's Nuts & Chocolates time again with new 2026 list! We are using family-owned business Miller Pecan Company this year.

Our nuts and chocolates will be here in mid-October, so contact your favorite Council Bluffs Altrusa member or our email ([email protected]) with your name, phone # and the nuts/chocolates you would like to have so we will contact you.

Altrusa International of Council Bluffs, IA, INC. is a non-profit service organization focused on community service. Our fundraiser funds are used for our literacy, scholarships and other projects (ex: Adoption Day provide each child a personalized blanket & book, Children’s Square books/journals, Head Start books, etc.).
