2026 Madera County CattleWomen Cowbelle of the Year – Debbie Drenon

The Madera County CattleWomen are proud to recognize Debbie Drenon as our Cowbelle of the Year.

She grew up on her family's ranch, working cattle alongside her father while he served as a herdsman at UC Davis. In 1987, Debbie purchased property next to the family ranch and continued helping with the family's cattle operation. She and her husband raised four daughters, all of whom showed cattle and developed a love and appreciation for the beef industry, helping pass that passion on to the next generation.

Debbie has been a dedicated member of our organization for many years, continuing a family tradition that began with her mother. She has also inspired the next generations of her family, encouraging both her daughter and granddaughter to become active members of the Madera County CattleWomen. Debbie currently serves as our Secretary and is a valued member of the Nominating Committee.

Today, Debbie remains one of our most dependable volunteers. She plays an active role in planning our annual Chuckwagon Luncheon, supports our county fairs, helps organize children's events at the local rodeo, and volunteers at many other club activities. Whenever help is needed, Debbie is always willing to step up and lend a hand.

Her dedication to our organization and her passion for promoting the beef industry make her truly deserving of this honor. We are proud to recognize Debbie Drenon as the Madera County CattleWomen Cowbelle of the Year.

📚🐮 Bringing Agriculture to Madera County Classrooms!🌾🤠

The Madera County CattleWomen were proud to donate 24 sets of three agriculture-focused children’s books to 24 schools throughout Madera County!❤️

Each school received a set featuring:

🐴 Charlie Learns to Be a Cowboy
🌾 California Ranch-Raised Kids As They See Themselves
🐮 A Place for Ace

We were so excited to hear from schools across the county who reached out and shared their excitement about receiving these books! These stories are more than just books; they are an opportunity to help our youngest students learn about the agriculture, ranching, and heritage that are such an important part of our Madera County community.

📖 Kindergarten and first-grade lessons will accompany the books, giving teachers the opportunity to use them as a starting point for conversations about agriculture, ranch life, our local community, and where our food and resources come from.

Our hope is that these books help connect Madera County children to the agricultural heritage that surrounds them, build an appreciation for the people who care for our land and animals, and educate the next generation about the importance of agriculture.🌱🐄

A special THANK YOU to Kim Linderholm for helping coordinate the distribution of these books and making sure they made their way into classrooms throughout our county! 💙

We are so excited to see these books being read, shared, and enjoyed by Madera County students! 📚🌾

Investing in our kids today means investing in the future of agriculture tomorrow. 🐮❤️

The Madera County CattleWomen Cow Coloring Contest was a huge success at the Madera Fair! 🐄🎨

This year, we had a whopping 40 entries! Check out all of these beautiful, creative cows! 🐮❤️

The California Cattlemen’s Association strongly opposes the Administration’s proposal to temporarily allow up to 300,000 metric tons of additional ground beef product to enter the U.S. tariff-free.

Since learning of the proposal, CCA has been actively engaged with members of Congress, our national cattle industry partners and the White House to communicate the potential consequences for American cattle producers.

We share the goal of keeping beef affordable for American families—but increasing imports is not the answer.

America’s cattle herd is at historically low levels. After years of drought, wildfire, rising costs and other challenges, today’s market is finally providing ranchers the opportunity to reinvest in their operations and begin rebuilding the herd.

If we want more affordable and abundant American beef in the years ahead, we need policies that encourage American ranchers to produce more cattle—not policies that increase our reliance on foreign beef.

CCA will remain actively engaged in Washington and continue advocating for California cattle producers as additional details become available.

Today we're celebrating the incredible beef cattle that help feed families across America and the dedicated ranchers who work tirelessly to care for them. From pasture to plate, every steak, roast, and burger starts with the commitment of hardworking cattle producers.
