Lexi is our tallest, oldest horse at 16 hands and 26 years old! 🐴
In session recently, one of our teens said she identified with Lexi in that people often have misconceptions when they first meet her. People are sometimes intimidated by her since she’s much taller than the rest of our herd of ponies and donkeys. But once people get to know her, she’s just a big old lady (with a little attitude sometimes 😉).
Our teen shared that when people first meet her, they sometimes think she is mean or unfriendly but if they give her a chance, they realize that she is really kind and friendly! We worked to identify what are her “truths” and how God would actually describe her (and Lexi!)
It’s incredible how much the animals can teach us about life and about ourselves! 💚💙

We are so grateful to have resumed mentoring sessions over the past few weeks! Please join us in praying for our kids and families who come to the ranch with hurting hearts this year. We pray for the Holy Spirit to continue guiding our mentors in pointing our kids to the ultimate healing that comes from Jesus 🙏

The word to sum up our day is THANKFUL.

Today, over 20 people volunteered their time to help us in cleaning up the ranch as we gear up for mentoring sessions to resume next week!
From cleaning animal enclosures, to clearing debris from the sensory trail, to landscaping and pulling weeds…we are set and ready to welcome families back out to the ranch after a difficult winter weather season!
Nothing we do would be possible without the volunteers who serve with us. Thank you thank you thank you!
