Help Matea Charles Shine as the Next "Little Miss FSU"

The Fayetteville State University (FSU) Sampson County Alumni Chapter is hosting its "Little Miss FSU" Pageant, and we have a truly stellar contestant to root for — the beautiful and bright Matea Charles
Matea represents a beautiful tradition of leadership, service, and excellence. She is surrounded by a powerful legacy of standard-bearers:

Her mother is a dedicated Legacy member of Gamma Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

Service, sisterhood, and community run deep in her roots, and now it is our turn to lift her up as she steps into the spotlight!
Why Your Support Matters

Inspiring the Next Generation of Healthcare Heroes!
The Gamma Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.Was thrilled to participate in the Career Expo at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School this past Friday, April 24th.
Sorors Phyllis Carter Goodman and Mary Goodman spent the day engaging with energetic 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students, sharing the incredible journey of becoming a nurse. It was a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on what we believe is the most honorable profession in the world!
Mapping the Pathway to Nursing

During the expo, our Sorors walked students through the essential steps to enter the nursing field, emphasizing the following.

Academic Excellence:
The importance of focusing on science and math early on.

Educational Tracks:
Exploring the different routes, from Associate and Bachelor degrees to advanced doctoral studies.

The Heart of Nursing:
Sharing personal stories of patient care, advocacy, and community service.

A Commitment to Mentorship
For Gamma Eta Eta, service doesn't just happen in the clinic—it happens in the classroom. By meeting these students where they are, we hope to plant the seeds for a future generation of compassionate, highly-skilled nursing professionals who will one day lead our healthcare systems.

A huge thank you to the staff at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School for inviting us to be a part of such a dynamic event. We left feeling inspired by the curiosity and potential of these bright young minds!

Honoring the Journey: The 2026 Widows Gathering Services

This past week, the campus of Mt. Olive College in Mt. Olive, N.C., became a sanctuary of healing and empowerment.
The 2026 Widows Gathering Services brought together women from all walks of life to honor their past, acknowledge their present, and equip them for a future defined by Power and Strength.

Hosted by the visionaries Dr. Barbara Lee and Kent Lee of *Word of Truth Outreach Ministry* and *Kingdom Work Force*, the event was a masterclass in intentionality. Every detail was designed to undergird these women as they navigate the complexities of their "New Season."

Empowerment Through Education & Testimony:

The gathering focused on providing practical, emotional, and spiritual tools to help widows transition from grief to resilience.

Mental Health as a Foundation:
Our very own Mary L. Goodman, MSN, APRN PMHNP-BC—a distinguished member of the Gamma Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.—took the stage to educate attendees on the mental health aspects of loss. Mary empowered the women with essential tools to navigate the psychological shifts of widowhood, reminding everyone that mental wellness is a vital component of strength.

The Power of Shared Experience:
Guest speaker Lynn Cox moved the room with a raw and empowering testimony of her own journey. By sharing her personal story of suddenly becoming a widow, she provided a mirror for many in the audience, proving that while the path is difficult, it is possible to walk it with grace and courage.

A Community of Support:
The intentionality shown by **Word of Truth Outreach Ministry** and **Kingdom Work Force** ensured that no woman left feeling alone. By fostering an environment of "undergirding," the organizers created a space where vulnerability was met with support and fear was met with faith.

"Widowhood is not the end of the story; it is the beginning of a New Season of Power."
