It's the first of the 'ber months...
As One Season Changes, Another Begins
There’s something about the end of summer that makes us pause.
The days are still warm, but the light begins to change. Mornings feel a little different. The pace of the season starts to shift, and across North Carolina, farm families are looking ahead to what comes next.
For those who work the land, changing seasons are more than a change on the calendar. They mark the rhythm of farm life—planting and growing, preparing and harvesting, working long days and making plans for the months ahead.
Summer brings its own demands, but there is something special about this time of year. It’s a reminder that farming is always moving forward. One season builds on the next, and every season brings new work, new challenges and new opportunities.
As summer comes to a close, we’re grateful for the farm families who continue to put in the work, often behind the scenes, to keep North Carolina agriculture strong. We know that farming takes commitment not just from the person in the field, but from entire families and communities working together.
At NC Farm Families, we’re proud to share those stories and to help connect farm families with information, resources and conversations that matter.
As we turn the page from summer to fall, we hope you’ll take a moment to appreciate how much has already been accomplished—and look ahead with optimism to what’s still to come.
Here’s to the changing seasons, the work ahead, and the farm families who make North Carolina agriculture what it is.
Thank you for being part of the NC Farm Families community.
