Unstoppable Girls Spotlight

Bloomfield Nj Fire Department has SIXTY (60!) girls enrolled in their camp this week, an expansion of the program now in its 4th year, made possible by a grant from Essex County Youth Services. 🔥 I stopped by this morning to say hello just in time for their plank contest (no, I did not participate; wrong outfit…but might stop by later this week to join in!). I am so proud of our township for prioritizing these opportunities to engage kids in especially those which help them build confidence, learn what it means to be part of community, and grow their leadership skills. AWESOME work, BFD! 🚒

👑✨ Happy Women’s History Month

As we celebrate this Month, we honor the trailblazers who dared to dream beyond limits. From her early days in Decatur, Alabama, pursued her love for science, serving as a medical officer in the Peace Corps before becoming a physician. Inspired by the Apollo missions and determined to break barriers for women in space, she applied to NASA in 1987.

Selected from more than 2,000 applicants, she trained at Kennedy Space Center and on September 12, 1992, flew aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, orbiting Earth with six other astronauts. Her journey secured her place in history as the first Black woman in space. A true reminder that when soulmates uplift and inspire each other, there are no limits to how far dreams can reach. 🚀✨
