Ending our series with a powerful vow of solidarity. 🎶

For our final interview before the big day, Sop 2 Cass chats with Kelly C., a Soprano 1 whose favorite piece this season is ""Banned Together."

The sneak peek of this song comes from Windsong's performance at the GALA Symposium in Columbus earlier this year. It’s a powerful testament to the strength we find when we show up for one another, hand in hand.

Witness the full heart of our chorus on May 17. Tickets by donation. 🏳️‍⚧️✊

While we spend a lot of time in rehearsal, the "off-the-clock" side of the group is just as important. It’s how we get to know each other outside of the music.

Lately, that’s looked like:
🧶 Craft Parties: Hot glue, friendship bracelets, and shrinky-dinks!
🪴Garden Club: Starting seeds, setting up raised beds, and separating aloe pups
🎤 Karaoke Night: A slightly different kind of singing than our usual repertoire
📚 Book Club: Check our recent post for what we've been reading

If you’re looking for a new community, our next chance to join the ensemble will be this August!

Check back next week for a snippet of our latest group karaoke song! 📹

We’ve been busy painting the town purple! 💜 Over the last two weeks, we’ve been hitting the pavement to spread the word about our May 17 concert all across Greater Cleveland.

Help Us Track the Purple!
We want to know where you’re spotting us:

Recognize a spot in these photos? Call it out in the comments!
Spotted a flyer in the wild? Tell us where you saw it!
Haven't seen one yet? Let us know which neighborhood needs a little more Windsong magic.

Behind the music, one story at a time. 🎶

In our latest interview, Sop 2 Cassandra chats with CJ, an Alto 3 who is thriving in the bass line for this one. Her pick? The powerful, visceral "Labour" by Paris Paloma. Check out the clip to hear CJ and the section lean into the grit of this feminist anthem.

See the full performance on May 17. Tickets by donation.

Happy World Book Day! 📚

At Windsong, we use the power of storytelling to grow. Our DEIA Book Club gives our members a space to dive into literature that explores race, gender, identity, ability, and social justice.

Beyond the pages, this club is about connection. It creates a unique space for singers to build relationships and share personal experiences that they might not otherwise get to explore during rehearsal.

We're currently reading Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.

Our recently read stack include:
📖 White Women: Everything You Already Know About Your Own Racism and How to Do Better – Regina Jackson & Saira Rao
📖 Parable of the Sower – Octavia E. Butler
📖 Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds – Adrienne Maree Brown
📖 The Case for Rage – Myisha Cherry
📖 Theatre of the Oppressed – Augusto Boal

Tell us: What's in your TBR stack?

A few years ago, we put in the work. 📝 Through deep workshopping and honest conversation, we defined the Core Values that represent who Windsong is today - and where we’re headed tomorrow.

We aren't just singing; we’re building a joyful, caring community rooted in
💜 Inclusiveness & Diversity
📢 Social Justice & Activism
