Camp 1:27

Camp 1:27 Camp 1:27 is a ministry of Raleigh’s Place. It is a summer camp for children in foster care, relative placement, or adoption. There is plenty to do at Camp 1:27.

Through our camp ministry, we want to Live the Gospel by
Loving the Fatherless. Raleigh’s Place Camp 1:27 is our annual summer camp program for foster children, children in relative placement, and adopted children. Over the years we have served hundreds of children from all over the state of Alabama. Camp 1:27 exists to Live the Gospel by Loving Fatherless as we seek to give every single one of ou

r campers the best week of their life. Camp 1:27 is tucked away in a gorgeous wooded area. We have been blessed to have great facilities including cabins, picnic pavilion, fire pit and amphitheater, dining facility, two pools, and a large multipurpose area. We also have many hiking trails available for the adventurous. Many of our campers truly have the best time of their life. Camp 1:27 believes in fun. We pack every minute of every day with great activities you can only find in a camp setting. We will spend many hours swimming in our pools, playing Gaga ball, shooting bows and arrows, creating beautiful arts/crafts, tubing/fishing at the lake, and so much more. Camp 1:27 is not just all about fun. We firmly believe that the best life includes a relationship with Jesus Christ. We are committed to teaching our campers God’s Word. We have several different Bible studies throughout the day and chapel every night. If anything is going to change the lives of our campers, it will be the gospel. Foster families carry so much behind the scenes, and our team is here to make sure they never feel like they’re walking that road alone.

Through our Partner Homes program, we support foster, adoptive, and relative-placement families across Chilton County with practical resources like food, clothing from Katie’s Kloset, training opportunities, birthday surprises, and even evenings designed to help parents rest and recharge.

These are just a few ways Raleigh’s Place comes alongside families throughout their fostering journey. Want to learn more or explore ways to get involved? Visit https://www.raleighsplace.org today.

As we also recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on how important it is for every child to feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.

For children in foster care, steady encouragement, meaningful friendships, and consistent support can make all the difference. That’s why programs like Camp 1:27 are at the heart of our mission at Raleigh’s Place.

Through friendships, caring counselors, worship, games, and simple moments of connection, our team works to make sure every child leaves camp feeling seen and valued.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and we’re grateful for every person who helps us support foster children and families here in Chilton County and across Alabama.

At Raleigh’s Place, caring for kids looks different for everyone. Some join us in serving at Camp 1:27, others donate clothing to Katie’s Kloset, encourage foster families, or cover our ministry in prayer. Every act of support makes a real difference for the children we serve.

We’re thankful for a community that continues to live out love in practical, meaningful ways so children feel seen, safe, and supported.

"Everyone Can Do Something."

This phrase is the title of Jason Johnson's (National Director of The Pure Religion Project with Christian Alliance for Orphans) book where he makes it clear: "We're not all called to do the same thing, but we are all capable of doing something."

May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and one important truth is this: not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can do something.

Children and families impacted by foster care need a community around them. That means there are many ways to help. You can pray, give, serve, and share.

Pray for children, foster families, biological families, and healing.
Give to support practical needs and ministry efforts.
Serve by volunteering or encouraging families who are caring for children.
Share this post to help others understand the need and get involved.

At Raleigh’s Place, we believe awareness should lead to action.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and one of the first steps toward helping is understanding.

Foster care exists to provide a safe and stable place for children when their families are walking through crisis. It is meant to be temporary, with the goal of reunifying children with their families whenever it is safe and possible.

At Raleigh’s Place, we believe children and families impacted by foster care need more than awareness. They need encouragement, practical support, and a community willing to step in with compassion.

This month, we invite you to learn, pray, share, give, and serve as we raise awareness for children and families connected to foster care.

Every child deserves safety, stability, and love.

We have an urgent need for Camp 1:27 Counselors this summer! 🌿✨

Camp 1:27 exists to share the love of Christ and give foster and adopted children a week of unforgettable fun, joy, and belonging. One of the most important ways we do that is by hiring godly young adults who want to make much of Jesus while pouring into these incredible kids.

We’re looking for college students or young adults who feel called to make an eternal impact this summer by serving on camp staff. If that’s you — or someone you know — we’d love to meet them!

More details can be found in the image with the QR code to apply.

Please share, tag, or send this to someone who would be excited about an amazing summer ministry opportunity! 💛
