🔥 BondFire Ranch Weekly Update | October 4–10, 2026 🔥

Howdy, BondFire Family!

This week looked different from what we originally planned, but it remained centered on preparation, partnership, continued learning, and safety.

🤝 Monday—Exploring Partnerships

We met virtually with representative a from Camp Southern Ground to learn more about each other’s missions and explore future opportunities to serve military members, veterans, and their families together.

🌧️ Tuesday—Putting Safety First

With a tropical storm threatening the Mobile area, we made the difficult decision to postpone the October 9 Cowboy Boot Camp and October 10 Ruck & Ride.

Because participants, volunteers, and horses would be traveling, we chose to put the safety of people, families, and animals first. Events can be reschedule, we cannot compromise the well-being of those entrusted to our care. We are working with our partners toward returning to the Mobile area in January.

🧠 Wednesday and Thursday—Strengthening Our Ability to Serve

Brian and Anne spent two full days alongside our partners from the Operation Iron Ruck Foundation, completing Peer Support Training and Adult Mental Health First Aid training.

A huge thank-you to the Vets Recover team for hosting us and providing two days of valuable training. The knowledge and practical tools they shared will help us better recognize concerns, respond appropriately, and strengthen the network of support surrounding our heroes and their families.

We were also grateful to meet Joe from the Wiregrass Veteran and First Responder Coalition and Don, a veteran and firefighter from Mobile. Connections like these continue to grow the community of people committed to serving and supporting others.

🛠️ Friday—Preparing for the Storm

David joined Brian at the Ranch to secure the property and prepare for the approaching storm.

Thankfully, our damage was limited to the flag being ripped from the barn. A large tree also came down across County Road 16 directly in front of the Ranch. We are grateful that the herd and our Ranch family remained safe. And our neighbors joining us to making quick work of getting it off the road.

🐴 Growing Our Community

This week also brought continued conversations with Contenu Wellness & Healing as we explore future opportunities to work together.

Preparations continued with Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, the Vet Centers, and other partners for the Alabama Women Veterans Listening Session, which BondFire Ranch will host.

More organizations including representatives from Alabama’s Traumatic Brain Injury Program also confirmed their participation in Stars & Strides.

🔥 Looking Ahead

We continue preparing for:

* Our October 17 volunteer workday
* The Alabama Women Veterans Listening Session
* Rescheduled Mobile-area programs
* The 3rd Annual Stars & Strides Fall Festival on November 7

Ruck & Ride - Mobile scheduled for this Saturday, October 10, at C4 Cattle Co. is regrettably postponed due to Hurricane Isaias.

On behalf of Operation Iron Ruck Foundation, BondFire Ranch, Vets to Cowboys, Vets Recover, Warrior Legacy Ranch, appreciate your understanding and continued support. We look forward to bringing our community together and will announce a new date soon.

We appreciate everyone who planned to participate and those who contributed their time and effort to preparing for the event.

Weather Update: Mobile Cowboy Boot Camp Postponed

Because we would be hauling horses and significant weather is possible with the potential storm, we’re postponing the Cowboy Boot Camp scheduled for Friday, October 9. The safety of our participants, volunteers, and horses comes first.

We’re looking for an alternative date so we can continue bringing this opportunity to the Mobile area. We’ll share an update as soon as a new date is confirmed.
