As Crayons and Beyond continues to grow and expand its reach to students across the region, we are excited to add a new Online & Delivery Coordinator position to our team. This role will help ensure teachers and schools have timely access to essential classroom supplies through online ordering, pickup, and shipping. The Online & Delivery Coordinator will work closely with program and operations teams and volunteers to manage logistics, support inventory readiness, and provide exceptional service to educators. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented problem solvers who are passionate about advancing educational equity and supporting the success of students and teachers. Crayons celebrated the end of another amazing school year with our Annual Volunteer Picnic! Gathering together to share food, enjoy the weather, and share exciting achievements from the year continues to be one of our favorite events.

This year was extra special, because we announced the success of our "Mission Makers" campaign, a subsection of our current Comprehensive Campaign. Our family volunteers raised $273,211 - over our stretch goal of $250k! Thank you to all of our volunteers for the gift of your time, talent, and treasure. A special thank you to Jim Ollier, our official "Mission Maker" who led the effort of the volunteer campaign.

Teachers! Tomorrow is the start of a 3-day Summer Book Bonanza. Shopping is from 10AM – 2PM each day. This is an opportunity for 2025-26 registered teachers to take unlimited used books. The event is at 1361 Tennessee Ave. Bring your school ID, bags/boxes, and come to the main store entrance to check in. Limited quantities of basic supplies and miscellaneous items MAY be available, as well.

We are thrilled to announce that Kirstin Eismin-Henry will join Crayons and Beyond as our next President & CEO, effective July 6, 2026. Kirstin brings more than 18 years of nonprofit leadership experience to this role, most recently as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Springer School and Center, where she led marketing, fundraising, board engagement, admissions, and community outreach. Her career has been rooted in expanding access and advocating for underserved communities, and we believe she is exactly the right person to lead us into our next chapter. Teacher Appreciation Week rolls on, after welcoming 154 teacher shoppers yesterday. All week long, every shopper will receive a little treat from us when they come to shop! AND the chance to win a different raffle basket each day! Thank you for ALL you do for the students in our communities.

We appreciate your continued dedication to providing students in our community the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Light refreshments will be available for shoppers each day and every shopper will have the chance to enter to win one of a variety of raffle baskets. We look forward to celebrating you this week!

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week to the wonderful volunteers that allow us to serve as many teachers as we do! So far this school year, our "family" volunteers have given over 5,200 hours of time restocking shelves, checking teachers out, packing online orders, and so much more. We truly couldn't do it without them.
