The Volunteer Montgomery program of Montgomery County, VA invites community members of all ages to use their skills and life experiences to answer the call of their neighbors in need. Volunteer Montgomery volunteers serve part-time, helping through a variety of local non-profit organizations, agencies, and institutions that are designated as volunteer workstations. Our November evening and weekend volunteer opportunities are below 🦃🍁

MCEAP Blacksburg Clothing Shop 👕
Blacksburg MCEAP needs volunteers on Wednesdays, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., and on Thursdays, 8-10:30 a.m. Please contact Matt Nottingham, Volunteer Manager, at 540-267-4382 for information or if you would like to sign up to volunteer.

Volunteer Montgomery Evening Event- Ornament Decorating 🎄
Join us on November 17 from 5:30-7:30 as we decorate ornaments for our Christmas Tree. Please reach out to our office to RSVP.

Salvation Army of NRV😇
Angel Tree tags to be delivered through November 23.
November 13th to December 3rd: Volunteers are needed to help picking up gifts from the different stores and return them to the Salvation Army Store
November 23, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Help set up the chapel to get the gift bags & toys ready.
November 30 to December 11: 10 am – 2 pm. Help organize everything that is coming in.

Kettle Bell Ringing 🔔
Official ringing starts on November 2. Hours will be 10 am to 6 pm. Groups can sign up for each ½ day
10 am- 2 pm. (4 volunteers, 1 hour each) or 2 pm- 6 pm. (4 volunteers, 1 hour each)
Also need 2 more drivers to help pick up the kettles

Food Pantry 🍅
Ongoing opportunity! Need help with food packaging on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 am- 12 pm & 1-2:30 pm.

St. Mary's NRV Glean Team Potato Drop 🥔
Volunteers are needed on Friday, November 20, from 2-4 PM and from 4-6 PM, and Saturday, November 21, from 7:30 AM- 9 AM, and 9-10:30 am at the Montgomery County Christmas Store. We’re connecting with students to share opportunities to get involved in their community, make a meaningful difference, and discover ways to give back through volunteering.

Tickets for our last Bingo night of the year are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased using the link below. We do NOT do resales nor refunds of tickets. You must be 21+ to attend. Thank you again to Iron Tree Brewing Company for hosting all of our Bingo Nights. We will have Fish Taco Cabo Food Truck for our food. 🎫
