Hope Retreat Ranch is located on 37+ acres of land in Choctaw, OK. We are a place for healing and a place for families. Hope Retreat Ranch provides free Equine-Assisted Therapeutic Riding to children with disabilities and their families. Horseback riding for children with disabilities is recognized as one

of the more progressive forms of therapeutic recreation. The ability to control a horse as well as one’s own body inspires self-confidence, responsibility and teamwork. The Ranch also hosts an annual community event (attendance 500+) in April and allows other local organizations such as Sooner Success and Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO) to use our facilities to host their own events. Hope Retreat Ranch is also available for families interested in hosting a rural gathering. In addition to opening our doors to families in need, during the summer months we have students participate in our STEP Program (Student Transition Enrichment Program). The STEP program provides a temporary, tailored work opportunity for disadvantaged or at risk high school and college aged students to learn the basic requirements for meaningful employment. Hope Retreat Ranch is operated and maintained 100% by volunteers; all funds collected go directly to the operations of the ranch (animal feed and care, grounds work, electric bill, etc.) or towards a specific project.
