At Main Street Marketplace & Meeting Place, we believe everyone deserves access to the food, knowledge, and support they need to live a healthier life.

Our 16-week Food Pharmacy Lifestyle Medicine Program goes beyond providing nutritious meals. Through hands-on education, healthy meal kits, guidance from a registered dietitian, and access to wellness resources, participants gain the tools and confidence to make lasting changes for themselves and their families.

Because improving health isn't just about what's on our plates. It's about removing barriers, creating opportunities, and making sure our neighbors have the support they need to thrive.

Building resilience starts with understanding our stories.

Our Resilience Training Series continues tomorrow, October 27, at Smart Start Rowan in Salisbury!

This week's class focuses on understanding ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and PACEs (Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences), exploring how our experiences shape us and how positive relationships, protective factors, and community support can help us grow, heal, and thrive.

Join us at either location:

📍 North: Smart Start Rowan, Salisbury
📅 Tuesday, October 27 | 11:30 AM–1:30 PM

📍 South: Main Street Meeting Place, China Grove
📅 Thursday, October 29 | 6:30–8:30 PM

Getting Ahead takes more than a program. It takes a community. 💚

At Main Street Marketplace and Meeting Place, we believe lasting change happens when people come together, build relationships, and create opportunities for one another.

Our Getting Ahead program is rooted in that belief. It's about creating a space where individuals can recognize their strengths, explore new possibilities, build resources, and take meaningful steps toward the future they envision.

But this work doesn't happen in isolation.

It takes participants willing to share their experiences, community partners who show up, and organizations like Rowan County United Way that recognize the importance of investing in people.

We're grateful to share why this work matters in recent Salisbury Post article and for reminding us that building a stronger Rowan County is something we do together. Because when individuals grow, families grow. And when communities invest in one another, we all move forward.

Today we’re excited to host the RAFI community here at the Market for Pilots and Pivots! 🌱

If there’s one thing we’ve learned along the way, it’s that building something like MSMP comes with a lot of trying new things, figuring out what works, and sometimes changing direction. From programs we’ve tested to partnerships we’ve built, every little step has helped shape the Market into what it is today.

We’re looking forward to sharing some of those stories, talking about what we’ve learned (and what we’re still learning!), and connecting with others who are doing similar work in their own communities.

There’s so much we can learn from one another, and we’re excited to be part of that conversation! 💚
