🚒 Applications are now open for the 2027 Oklahoma Executive Fire Officer Leadership Program! 🚒

Are you ready to take the next step in your fire service leadership journey? The Oklahoma Executive Fire Officer Leadership Program is designed to help fire service leaders strengthen their leadership skills, develop their personal philosophy of leadership and ethics, and learn how to lead others effectively.

The 160- hour program is a partnership between OSU- Fire Service Training, the Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association, the Oklahoma State Fire Marshals Office, and the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association.

When the call comes, be ready!

Kiamichi Tech is offering Brush Truck 101, a free, hands-on training for volunteer firefighters focused on safely and effectively operating brush trucks during wildland fires.

Participants will learn about brush truck capabilities and limitations, apparatus familiarization, pump and water system operations, hose deployment and nozzle selection, driving and positioning techniques, fire attack tactics and safe operation in both rural and off-road environments.

Join us Saturday, December 5th and gain practical experience and build confidence in operating a brush truck in a variety of rural and off-road situations.

Student Spotlight: Called to Serve

We’re proud to spotlight two of our Welding students, Cedar Cloyd and Aaron Dean, who are also dedicated volunteer firefighters. When the call came, they didn’t hesitate to step away from the shop and answer it, putting their skills, time, and commitment to serving others into action.

While they may spend their days in the shop learning the skills of the welding trade, moments like these are a reminder that being part of a community means being willing to step up and serve when you’re called. Their commitment goes far beyond the skills they’re building in our Welding program—they’re already putting character, responsibility, and a heart for service into action.

True citizenship isn’t just about what we know—it’s about how we show up, contribute, and take part in our community. We’re proud to have students who are willing to answer the call to serve and represent Kiamichi Tech – Durant wherever they go.

That’s citizenship in action.
