Thank you to everyone who came out to the Annual Membership Meeting this evening and all who helped put the event together!
We did some business, learned about what is going on at the Chickasha Public Library, and ended the evening with a tour by Lillie Huckaby highlighting the areas the Friends helped fund. We all learned a little something on that tour!

History will come to life at the Chickasha Public Library during the "Living Library: America Through the Decades" presentation Saturday, June 13. Stop by the library any time between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for this come and go event.

Local library youth will showcase interactive displays and live portrayals of iconic figures representing every decade of American history from 1776 to 2026. This immersive educational event offers a unique journey through the nation's past.

Sign up for summer reading. ☀️

Studies have shown that children can lose significant knowledge in reading and math over their summer breaks. Here’s some tips for keeping kids on track for the next school year.

📗 Let kids read what they want. Children gain more from their summer reading when they are enjoying it. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program at your local public library. Many libraries have summer reading for all ages. Find your local public library at the link below in Comments. 🔗)

🧩 Make time for smart play. Educational games, toys and puzzles are a great way to keep kids engaged. Your library has programs and activities planned for learning this summer.

🤾 Get out of the house and explore. New places and spaces stimulate the brain. Your local library may have zoo and museum passes. Visit a Story Trail. (See the OK statewide list in Comments below. 🔗)

🎉 Use your imagination. Imaginative play promotes vocabulary building and learning new concepts. Explore books and other resources at the library.

During this week’s Patriotic Book Club, Dr. James Finck, American History Professor at USAO, will host a discussion on the Declaration of Independence.
