Have you ever had a bad job and then received an offer at a different company that seemed more promising only for that job to wind up being bad a year down the line too? That's not a coincidence. Changing jobs *might* result in better material conditions, but it just as easily might result in worse material conditions. The ONLY thing that's pretty much guaranteed to make your material conditions improve is direct action and building solidarity. Get organized.

The situation at NCl uni is still ongoing so we're posting this picture from January, taken by the fantastic .

We want to reaffirm our union's unwavering support for the people of Palestine. Their struggle is our struggle, their fight is our fight, solidarity does not end at national borders. Our hearts are with them now and forever, and we will do what we can to support them.

We've often felt the absence of people in power in this country when it comes to solidarity with Palestine. The same can be said of some organisations. But the students have stepped up. We commend them with our whole hearts and utterly condemn the brutality we witnessed yesterday from Northumbria Police. Perhaps they think it's brave of them to put young people in hospital, perhaps they're just bad people in a rotten organisation. There's not much point wasting a thought on them.

Join your local encampment if you can, and to name just our nearest. Stand with the decent, empathetic people who are doing what they can to end this genocide.

WE DON'T WORK MAY 1ST!

Join the Greater Chicago IWW for May Day, and fight the employing class by spending your day in companionship with the people who actually do have your back and will stand in solidarity with you in your struggles instead of spending your day making money for your bosses.

Catch us at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL from noon to 3:30pm, where we will be laying roses for the Haymarket Martyrs and our many fellow workers also interred at or near the Monument, speaking words of inspiration for the continued struggle for worker power, singing the songs of the revolution, and sharing the history of our fight with the many workers who come out every year in remembrance and respect.

From 4-7pm, join us on the Rooftop, and inside on the second floor, of the Foundry/FP (7503 Madison St, Forest Park, IL) for a Social and Potluck, with a fundraising bar (donations requested), movies, games, music, and all the conversation you can handle!

This is a family friendly event, including a bedroom for sleepy children to nap in, and a full bathroom for cleaning up those messy situations that we just can't avoid.

Branch merchandise will also be available for purchase, so you can get your Chicago IWW shirts, koozies, and Hot Wobbly hot sauce!
