Rev Up the Fun: Deaf Riders Day! 🏍️💨
​Get ready to roll on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Swoboda Deaf Center!
​Kick start the day from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM with our featured Bike Contest—bringing out the best Classic, Custom, and Paint jobs on two wheels. Cruise through local Deaf vendors, score raffle prizes, and fuel up with food for sale. Grab General Admission for $10 (includes a drink & gift), or throttle up to the $20 VIP package for a meal, gift, drink, and access to the night shift.
​Keep the engines idling into the evening! From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, we're holding down the fort with Social Night and Texas Hold 'Em ($10 entry, or free with VIP).

Celebrating Culture & Leadership: July is dedicated to celebrating disabled identity, culture, and contributions. It provides a platform to uplift Deaf leadership, honor advocates, and raise awareness about Deaf culture and accessibility.

July 26, 1990: President George H.W. Bush signed the ADA into law.
​Impact on the Deaf Community: The ADA established vital legal protections requiring reasonable workplace accommodations, public access, closed captioning standards, and telecommunications relay services (TRS/VRS).

Hi! Deaf fun facts...
Around 1920s, at that time - in US - many schools were what? Segregated. Black deaf students, white deaf students were in separate classes; each program were learned differently. Black deaf students often socialized with other Black Deaf - their communication, identity, development, and signs differed from the others. Their unique signs recognized differences among "my bad", "what's up?". That's called Black American Sign Language (BASL). BASL is an important part of ASL history & deaf culture.
