Help fund the Nature Play Space! Alderman Sposato has asked the community for suggestions on how to spend the ward menu money for this year. You can help out by sending an email to Alderman Sposato asking that some of the money gets spent to fund the Nature Play Space. You can email his office at [email protected]. We have provided a template you can use, be sure to include your name if you'd like at the bottom.

Dear Alderman Sposato,

As a member of the community that patronizes Shabbona Park I would like you to consider appropriating funds for the nature play space. The Shabbona Park Advisory Council is working with the park district to realize this play space for the community. They have worked with the community to gather signatures and host play sessions with the kids in the area to propose features for the play space. Recently the advisory council took votes on what features should be at the play space and is working through next steps to have it built. Securing funding for the play space will help make it a reality for the community and would be much appreciated.

The Chicago Park District has started a particapatory budget process for the city. You can help out in ensuring the nature play area gets funding by filling out the following form https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/citywide-participatory-budget. Be sure to select Nature Play Area and Shabbona Park as the park on the form. Be sure to include your reason why as well!

Reminder that tomorrow (Feb 3) will be the advisory council meeting at Shabbona Park at 7PM. You can also join via google meet at meet.google.com/xmb-tvps-fjw.

Also letting you know that voting for the nature play area is open at the fieldhouse. We'll shortly get an online form available as well. Be sure to leave your vote on the board
