Big news! ๐Ÿ’™

NAMI Illinois has been awarded $150,000 to serve as a Community Network Anchor through the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Community Network Anchor program.

Working alongside our regional co-anchor, the City of Rolling Meadows, we'll host listening sessions across the Westchester region to hear directly from children, families, caregivers, and community members about their experiences with mental health services.

These conversations will help identify what's working, where barriers exist, and what changes are needed. Together, we'll share these insights with IDPH to help shape future policies, funding, and resources that better support communities across Illinois.

We are honored to help ensure lived experience is at the center of building a stronger mental health system.

2026 NAMI Illinois Board Retreat: Strengthening Our Foundation, Shaping Our Future ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™

We reflected on where we are today and where we are headed.

A great day of fellowship, reflection, and planning with our incredible Board. Special thanks to NAMI DuPage for graciously hosting us!

We also appreciated Tony Ohlhausen, Director of Research and Policy, leading NAMI Smarts for Advocacy and a conversation about the future of our advocacy work across Illinois.

Grateful for this team and excited for whatโ€™s ahead!

making sure no one is alone in their mental health challenges.

No one should have to face a mental health challenge by themselves.

Every gift, every volunteer hour, every conversation, and every act of advocacy helps build a community where people can find support, hope, and connection when they need it most.

The work is underway!

NAMI Illinois staff members Luisa and Teagan recently traveled to Urbana for the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Community Network Anchor grantee orientation.

They joined fellow Community Network Anchors from across the state to connect, share ideas, and prepare for the important work ahead.

We're excited to bring what we learned back to the communities we serve as we begin listening sessions focused on child and family mental health and work together to create lasting change across Illinois.
