For years, Crystal carried deep wounds from her past. Pain, rejection, addiction, and anger affected her relationships and left her feeling hopeless. But when she came to Pacific Garden Mission, God began doing a new work in her life.
Through the New Day and New Life programs, Crystal has learned to confront the pain she once tried to bury, grow in her relationship with God, and understand the freedom that comes through forgiveness.
“I’ve learned that you have to forgive, not just for the other person, but for yourself.”
Today, Crystal is moving forward with greater stability, restored relationships, and a desire to follow the purpose God has for her life.
The Gospel changes lives.

Sometimes the best encouragement comes from someone who has walked the same road.
Jason came to Pacific Garden Mission seeking a new direction for his life. He went on to graduate from the New Life Bible Program, and today he serves on staff at PGM, helping other men as they work toward lasting change.
Here, Jason takes time to sit with a current New Life resident in the PGM cafeteria. It is a simple moment, but one that reflects what happens every day at the Mission: people who have been helped turning around and helping others.

There are times when we feel weak, overwhelmed, or simply unable to carry what is before us. But God reminds us that we do not have to rely on our own strength.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
Whatever you are facing today, His grace is sufficient. His strength is greater than our weakness, and we can trust Him through every circumstance.

From Needing Help to Helping Others
When Donald Grant Anderson came to Pacific Garden Mission, addiction had taken control of his life and left him homeless. But that wasn’t the end of his story.
Through God’s grace, Donald found a new foundation, restored relationships, and a renewed purpose. Today, the man who once came to PGM needing help is now serving others and sharing the Gospel.

“I was always searching for something to fill the void.”
For Otis, that search led down difficult roads. But when he came to Pacific Garden Mission, he encountered something different: the truth of God’s Word and the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Today, Otis is not only a graduate of PGM’s Bible Program, he is also a member of the PGM staff, serving others in the same place where God worked so powerfully in his own life. ❤️
As Otis says, “God has truly transformed me, and He is constantly transforming me still.”
His story is a beautiful reminder that transformation in Christ is not simply about where we have been. It is about what God is doing in us today and where He is leading us next. 🙏
