The dedication and innovation of the Operation Walk Chicago volunteers can extend beyond the care we offer to our joint replacement patients. Andrew Brander, son of Operation Walk Chicago co-founder Dr. Victoria Brander and Dr. William J Brander, has accompanied our team on multiple recent missions providing valuable tech support. Recently, Andrew joined the IT Department of the Cook County Treasurer's Office in the Chicago area. He quickly applied his expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help develop a new system to eliminate a massive backlog in reimbursement payments to local taxpayers. Thanks in large part to Andrew's efforts, taxpayers are now getting their long-overdue refunds. Here's a news story that just aired on the Chicago ABC station covering this breakthrough. Congratulations, Andrew!

After a year of finger pointing between a private company and Cook County, property owners are finally getting property tax refunds.

Operation Walk Chicago completed our most recent medical mission to Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City. This was another wonderful trip where we brought about 30 volunteers together to perform more than 40 hip replacement surgeries over five days. Here are a number of images from our patient celebration event on our last day, which was Wednesday, April 15th. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers, our wonderful Vietnamese colleagues and of course, our Vietnamese patients and their family members. Each trip is so special for all of us, and this one was certainly as much as any that we've undertaken in the past 20 years! More images and videos from this trip to come in the days & weeks ahead!
