Hello! The UW Extension Beef Team needs your help! The Beef Team started in 2024 as a group of University of Wyoming Extension Educators and Specialists with a mission to support Wyoming beef producers in building resilient, profitable operations by providing innovative solutions and fostering sustainable practices through education, outreach, and collaboration. To help us out, we are asking for your input as ranchers by filling out this needs assessment survey. This will give us a better idea of how we can address topics you need to know more about through programs around Wyoming by region and operation size. This is a completely anonymous survey, so we won't be able to see who completed or where you are beyond zip-code. The Wyoming Collegiate Cattle Association will be holding their second annual formal Gala event and auction on May 3rd at the Black Fox in Laramie. They have extended the invite to WSGA members!

Doors will open at 5:30 and the event will start at 6pm. The attire will be Cowboy Black Tie with the theme of Rhinestone Cowboy.

There will be a live auction at the event to help raise funds for trips and events that they offer to students. These include things like meat processing plant tours, cattle industry conventions, ranch tours, guest speakers, and more.

There will be a prime rib dinner from the UW Food Science Club and an awards banquet.

The Wyoming Stock Growers Wildfire Relief Fund is still accepting donations to assist Wyoming livestock producers who have been impacted by major fires in 2024.

You can donate online at https://wysga.org (scroll down to find the information on the wildfire fund). All donations are tax deductible and help our neighbors most impacted by the fires.

And if you are a producer in need of assistance, there is still time to apply for their funding. Visit https://wysga.org and apply by TOMORROW October 10th.

Our thoughts are with our friends and family in the Dayton and Sheridan areas right now.

The instructors will use facilitative tools to identify, explore, and prioritize options for ranchers and farmers. This informative workshop will help operations move forward and not repeat mistakes that commonly occur after a fire has affected an area.

The workshop will take place at the Johnson County Fairgrounds Community Building

Young Producers Assembly Meeting & Social Event at WSGA Winter Convention

December 4th, 2023, 4:00pm-6:00pm at Casper Ramkota Hotel

The business meeting will be conducted from 4-5pm and our Young Ag Professionals Social will follow. A great time to socialize and network with fellow ag leaders and members!

We are also looking for new leadership within our team! Open Regional Representative positions 1, 3, and 5 as well as Secretary/Treasurer will be elected.
