DowntownFirst Downtown First is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization originally established in November 1993.

Its mission is to cultivate and promote a thriving, vibrant and welcoming downtown. The purpose of DDF is to facilitate and support improvements to downtown Cheyenne. In concert with other groups, and especially with the DDA, the DDF actively solicits funds from grants, donations, revenue sharing, and other funding mechanisms to help provide financing for the improvement of downtown Cheyenne as we

ll as support and participate in other activities and actions directed towards improving our downtown area.

Congratulations to The Cheyenne Elks Lodge #0660 on their 125th anniversary. Chartered in 1901 and occupying the building since 1903, they are a downtown landmark.

It is always great to have new neighbors and downtown hit the jackpot when the very generous Regional Roofing & Restoration folks moved to 2003 Central.

They immediately got involved and sponsored military and customer drinks at Beach Please Drink Company for Summer on the Streets. And now are a sponsor for the downtown putt putt golf tournament.

What an amazing day downtown. If you came down and shopped, ate, bought anything from horseradish pickles to peaches to goat milk hand lotion — THANK YOU for supporting local businesses, farmers, artisans and non profits.

Shout out to Community Action of Laramie County, Inc. for all their hard work in bringing so many wonderful participants together year after year. And thank you for allowing it to be held downtown. The staff and volunteers do great things every day.

Thank you to Threads of hope for the carnival vibe and all the fun. Great volunteers and mission.

Thank you to Wyoming Wave Studios for bringing together some incredible music.

Thank you to the staff at Community Recreation and Events for being such incredible partners. No matter the event, they always say “how can we help?”

Thank you to Cheyenne Police Department for their help with traffic.

This was the first time the event has been held downtown in many years. Although it was great, we learned some things to make things flow more smoothly and tweak the layout. But the energy, sense of community and positivity in our downtown today was phenomenal.

Saturday, August 15th brings the 5th annual putt putt golf tournament to downtown.

18 downtown businesses are busy designing and building customized holes. Get a team together or come alone — everyone is welcome. You won’t want miss this fun day of “golf” and camaraderie and visiting some great downtown businesses.
