Wyoming Girls State The American Legion Auxiliary Wyoming Girls State program is a week-long session of learning about our government - on the city, county, and state levels.

It is practical application of Americanism and good citizenship. It was developed from the idea that our youth should be offered a better perspective of the practical operation of our government, and that the individual, being an integral part of the government, is ultimately responsible for the character and success of the government. Over the past ten years, I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with the Wyoming Legion Auxiliary to put on Girls State.

This year is special as it’s my last time with these amazing young women. These women will change the world and our country. I’m so proud of them for coming out of their comfort zones and joining such a profoundly special program.

Thank you, to the young women who take part, and the incredible volunteers like Maj. Morey, who put this program on.
