Cheverly is celebrating its 95th anniversary! 🎉The incorporated on April 25, 1931. We have invited Cheverly Town Organizations, churches, and groups to host an event in the week leading up to Cheverly Day. Think Fun Runs, Music, sporting events, A Pirate Festival, and so much more.
CHV Week 95 starts Friday, September 18th and culminates with Day 2026 on Saturday, September 26, with a parade, a community day, and fireworks!

The newly re-formed Cheverly History Club has put out a self guided walking tour of several Sears Kit houses! As part of the weeklong 95th birthday celebration, , the Cheverly History Club would like to share a bit of the history about the Sears kit houses in Town and encourage you to do your own self-guided sidewalk tour of a dozen of them between September 18 and 26! Approximately 126 Sears catalog kit houses were constructed in Prince George's County, primarily in the 1920s and 1930s, and about 25 of those Sears kit houses were built in Cheverly! (There are also several McClure kit houses in Town.) The most popular Sears models in Cheverly were the Americus, the Crescent, the Uriel, and the Vallonia. A dozen representative houses are at:
