My first Mother’s Day was one I will never forget. It was bittersweet, my micro preemie was in the NICU, fighting battles most will never fully understand. At 2 months old, she weighed just 3.11 pounds.

She was a fighter, a warrior, and our miracle who gave me the greatest title of all, Mom. I will be forever grateful.

This Mother’s Day, the Olivia Grace Foundation honors all mothers — NICU moms, moms-to-be, grandmothers, grieving mothers, and every mother figure who gives love, strength, and hope each day.

This week, we’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, Nurse Appreciation Week, and Public Service Recognition Week!

On behalf of the Olivia Grace Foundation, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to serving and caring for others every single day.

Did you know the VCU Transitional Care Unit has its very own school designed specifically for children with disabilities? The teachers are extraordinary and deeply committed to helping these special kiddos learn and thrive. We were honored to deliver Starbucks gift cards as a small token of appreciation for all they do.

We also couldn’t forget the amazing nurses at the TCU who care for some of our most vulnerable kiddos every day with such love and compassion. To thank them, we dropped off some sweet treats because they are just as sweet as the care they provide.

To all teachers, nurses, and public servants thank you for making a difference in the lives of many.

In Olivia’s honor, we created the Olivia Grace Foundation. Our mission is to nurture a community where every child is celebrated, every caregiver is uplifted, and no family has to walk their journey alone.

Last weekend, we had the honor of delivering 36 holiday gift bags to kids at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU Transitional Care Unit 💜

This was our very first Christmas gift-giving through the Olivia Grace Foundation, and it meant more to us than words can express. Each child received a book, a stuffed animal, and a holiday card, all packed with love and care. We also made sure the wonderful staff received some holiday goodies as a small thank you for all they do every day.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this mission through donations, encouragement, and love. Because of you, we were able to bring joy and holiday cheer to so many.

Today we had the chance to be part of the 36 Hours for Kids Radiothon, a live fundraising event supporting Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

We shared our story, our experiences with Children’s Hospital Transitional Care Unit (TCU), and spoke about our nonprofit, The Olivia Grace Foundation.

💜 November is National Prematurity Awareness Month 💜

This month, we come together to raise awareness about premature birth and support the incredible families whose journeys begin far too soon.

Did you know?

• A premature birth is defined as birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

• About 1 in 10 babies in the United States are born prematurely.

• Prematurity can lead to serious health challenges such as respiratory distress, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays.

In 2013, our daughter Olivia Grace was born weighing just 1 pound, 8 ounces, a true micro preemie. Her strength and resilience remind us that even the tiniest fighters can make the biggest impact. 💜

This month, and every month, we stand in solidarity with all the preemies, parents, and NICU heroes who fight so hard every single day. You are the definition of strength and hope.

💜 The Olivia Grace Foundation was inspired by our daughter, Olivia Grace, who was born three months early weighing just 1 lb. 8 oz in 2013. Her journey filled with countless challenges taught us the true meaning of strength, faith, and unconditional love.

What began as a story of survival, has become a mission to empower and uplift families of children with disabilities, reminding them that they are not alone and that every child’s story matters.

Through Olivia’s life, we’ve learned to love deeply, fight fiercely, and never lose hope. Our foundation stands as a reflection of that love and our commitment to continue God’s work by supporting others through their journeys.
