The Bethune-Height Changemaker Pathways connects rising changemakers with the resources, relationships, and experiences needed to accelerate their personal, professional, and community impact.

Here's what makes the fellowship unique:
A year of growth: Participate in a structured fellowship designed to support your development from onboarding through the program year.

Meaningful mentorship: Receive individualized support from a Black woman professional whose experience aligns with your interests.

Career and impact assignments: Build practical skills while exploring professional opportunities and addressing challenges in your community.

Virtual and in-person experiences: Learn from experts through Change Labs and build community through immersive , experiential learning.

Scholarship funding: Eligible selected fellows receive a $2,000–$3,000 scholarship.
The program is expected to begin with onboarding in April–May 2027, followed by the program term from June 2027 through June 2028.Changemakers should anticipate approximately 10 hours of participation per week.

Rising freshmen through rising seniors of all academic and career interests are encouraged to apply.

The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Tidewater Virginia Section is proudly represented in Atlanta, Georgia, as our Section President and fellow members attend the 62nd NCNW National Convention! 💜

Surrounded by phenomenal women from across the nation, our members are embracing an incredible opportunity to connect, collaborate, celebrate our collective achievements, and strengthen our commitment to service and advocacy.

Founded in 1935 by the legendary Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, NCNW has spent more than 90 years uplifting African American women, their families, and communities through education, leadership development, economic empowerment, health equity, civic engagement, and social justice.

One of NCNW’s greatest strengths is its connection to historically Black Greek-letter organizations, including the sororities of the Divine Nine (National Pan-Hellenic Council).

Through NCNW’s national network of affiliated organizations, including the four Divine Nine sororities, we celebrate a shared legacy of scholarship, sisterhood, advocacy, and service.

Officials with Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) say free rides will be offered on Election Day.

Fares will be waived for buses, light rail, ferry, Paratransit and OnDemand ridesharing on November 3 to help voters get to the polls.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET | SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. – Tidewater Section pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders, service members, survivors, families, and everyday citizens whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the tragedy of that day, but also the compassion, courage, sacrifice, and unity that followed.

May we continue to honor their memories through service, kindness, and a commitment to strengthening our communities.

🕊️ We remember the lives lost.

It’s back to school time for our Chesapeake, VA students and the members of NCNW Tidewater Section couldn’t miss the first day of school. On Tuesday September 8, 2026 we welcomed the Camelot Knights back to class for the 2026-2027 school year. The excitement on the students faces was priceless.

Here's wishing the Camelot Elementary School students and staff a year of excellence and outstanding achievement.
