Yoshi 🦖has been with us since April after coming from one of our partner shelters. He’s made plenty of friends here, but what he really wants is a family to call his own.🏠

He’s the kind of dog you can’t help but smile around. Yoshi is full of energy, always ready to play, loves other dogs, and is completely obsessed with water. If there’s a puddle, pool, or hose nearby, he’s already in it. 💦He’d thrive with an active person or family who’s excited to bring him along for adventures, playtime, and everything in between.

Because he’s a bigger guy with lots of puppy-like enthusiasm, he’d do best in a home without young children. But in the right home, he’s going to be an incredibly fun, loyal companion.

Yoshi doesn’t need perfect, he just needs a chance. 💛

We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, taking place on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake. After the incredible success of our first tournament last June, we are thrilled to bring the event back this fall - with cooler weather, more fun on the course, and even more ways for our community to get involved.

Last year’s tournament brought together supporters, donors, and friends of Reba’s for a memorable day of golf in the summer heat, all in support of the animals who depend on us. This year, we are looking forward to enjoying the day together in October, making the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable for everyone while continuing to raise critical funds for rescue, medical care, and second chances for our rescue animals!

We took advantage of a beautiful day to give some of our rescue animals a special visit to our future Virginia Beach location before construction begins and from the looks of the faces - it was pure joy.

While this isn’t our home just yet, our current rescue animals will be able to visit and enjoy the space in the meantime. From zoomies across the open areas to cooling off on the splash pad, it’s already bringing so much enrichment and happiness to the animals in our care. Watching them enjoy it made the vision feel even more real.

We know many of you are excited and already asking about an opening date. While we don’t have a set timeline just yet, we promise to keep our community updated every step of the way as construction begins and progresses.

Josie is ready to be your weekend sidekick!
She’s an 8 year old boxer mix, dog and people friendly, loves every car ride adventure, and would happily be your co-pilot for coffee runs, beach trips, errands, or lazy couch days.

Right now, she’s still in the rescue, and even a few hours away can make a huge difference for her. A day trip, a sleepover, or a full weekend- she’ll take whatever adventure comes her way.

Josie is calm, affectionate, and incredibly easy to have around. She doesn’t ask for much, just some fresh air, a little attention, and a chance to enjoy normal life outside the kennel.

Dream is a stunning one year old shepherd mix with energy, personality, and a whole lot of love to give. She’s playful, alert, and always ready for her next adventure.

She’s currently being dog tested but did live with another dog before being surrendered due to a family move.

Dream would do best with an active family ready to continue her training and give her the life she deserves.

Meet Haru 🤍

Haru made a long journey all the way from South Korea and once had a home filled with love. Unfortunately, when his family suddenly had to leave, they were unable to take him with them.. leaving this gentle giant searching for a new beginning.

At 20 pounds, Haru is a BIG boy with an even bigger heart. He has an amazing temperament, is incredibly sweet, and loves affection. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his calm, loving personality.

Right now, Haru urgently needs either an immediate foster home or even better, a forever family ready to give him the life he deserves

Because of his large size, he’s not comfortable in our current cat enclosures and would thrive in a home environment where he has room to stretch out, relax, and be loved.

Today was a very special day for Boone, Clementine, Beau, and Remi as every member of this sweet litter was adopted!

Boone and Clementine will be staying together, while Beau is off to start his own adventure with a wonderful family. 💙

Remi was adopted by a previous adopter of Bobbi, one of our rescue alumni. Once a very shut down kitty, Bobbi has blossomed with love and patience and now she has a new little sister to share her home with.

There is something extra special about seeing an entire litter find their families on the same day. Congratulations, sweet kittens, we can't wait to watch your happily ever afters unfold!

Over the past couple days, we’ve been overwhelmed by the love, encouragement, and support shown for Reba’s Rescue as we shared some exciting news about our future. Every comment, share, and kind word has meant more than you know.

Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate the family behind the mission.

Reba’s Rescue was founded by Melony Daniels, whose love for animals and determination created the foundation for everything we do today. Her vision continues to inspire us as we grow and expand our impact. Melony’s husband and Co-Founder, Charlie (Chuck) Daniels, along with their children, Brittany and Justin, have worked tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality, helping build a future where we can save even more lives and connect with our community.

As we celebrate this exciting chapter, we’re also celebrating two very special accomplishments within the Daniels family.

Congratulations to Nathan on his graduation! In addition to his studies, Nathan generously spends much of his free time working at Reba’s Animal Rescue, helping care for animals and supporting our mission whenever he can. We are incredibly proud of the young man he has become.

We also want to congratulate Jett on graduating kindergarten! Jett has a heart for animals that shines brightly and loves spending time around the rescue pets. Watching his compassion and kindness grow reminds us that the future of animal welfare is in good hands. We know this is just the first of many milestones ahead for him.

Reba’s Animal Rescue has always been more than a rescue..it’s a family. Today, we celebrate not only the growth of our organization but also the next generation carrying forward the values of compassion, service, and love for animals in honor of Melony.
