Cottontail Cottage Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and rescue center for equines and farmed animals.

Cottontail Cottage Farm Sanctuary (CCFS), is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and rescue center for equines and farmed animals. Co-founded in 2012, by husband and wife team, Jenny and Mathew Nichols, our mission is to give abused and neglected horses and farmed animals a second chance. CCFS is located in Whitefield, Maine on a beautiful 65-acre heritage farm. Currently, there are twelve different species of animals residing at the sanctuary, including, horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, bunnies, dogs, cats and an array of birds who have a permanent home here with us. They will live out the rest of their lives knowing only peace, love and security. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to Cottontail Cottage Farm Sanctuary. If you've wondered why we've gone a little quiet on here, well, I thought I'd tell you why. Mathew and I have finally finished (or nearly finished) some major projects for the animals. First being, we fenced off the big 10-acre field and boy, are the animals loving it! We have cleared more land; moved the horses and steers barns so they are closer to the farmhouse (making winter care so much easier) and put in even more fencing. To say we are exhausted is an understatement - but, there's no time for the weary, as winter is right around the corner and we've still loads to do to be ready for it. That being said, I have started a fundraiser and we would love your help. Any amount helps from $5 to $500 as it adds up big time for the animals.
