Cottontail Cottage Farm Sanctuary (CCFS), is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and rescue center for equines and farmed animals. Co-founded in 2012, by husband and wife team, Jenny and Mathew Nichols, our mission is to give abused and neglected horses and farmed animals a second chance. CCFS is located in Whitefield, Maine on a beautiful 65-acre heritage farm. Currently, there are twelve different

species of animals residing at the sanctuary, including, horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, bunnies, dogs, cats and an array of birds who have a permanent home here with us. Our little girl Annie has grown old. But this doesn't stop her from living her best life thanks to all of you who pitch in to help us care for the animals here. Plus, she still has the most glorious beard (which i secretly think Mr. Tumnus is quite envious of as he can't seem to grow one himself.) Murtaugh and Sugarfoot are long-time residents. These pictures are pre-shearing. It's amazing how wonderful their coats are and also amazing how small they look after they've been sheared. We use the wool to go around our plants and apple trees as it makes an excellent fertilizer. In turn, the plants and apples (including branches) are used to feed the animals. Being mindful of utilizing a full-circle method in our care for the land and animals is important. Nourish the land and it will nourish you back!
