We are honored by today’s recognition and sincerely thankful to everyone who made it possible. Especially blessed to be recognized along with our fellow nominees, who are amazing people that provide programs that serve our community everyday.

From our Cherokee Recreation team and community partners to our chief vice, chief and tribal council, thank you for your support. Together we’ve grown from nine athletes to 185 participants, we added Special Olympics programming in 2019, and continued investing in services that strengthen the lives of our seniors and special populations. Sgi, to our participants who make it worth it!!

This recognition is not about one person. It’s about a team, a community, and a shared commitment to serving our people. Sgi for believing in the work we do.
Our Partners Include:
Snowbird Recreation, EBCI Cherokee Senior Citizens, John Welch Senior Center, Snowbird & Cherokee County Services, Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO) Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (Mothertown) Qualla Boundary Senior Games, Qualla Boundary Special Olympics

FYI

Siyo!

Due to heavy rainfalls and incoming high winds, the programming for today at the Fairgrounds has been canceled. There will be no Entry Fee for those entering for food and/or merchandise today.

At this time, the carnival rides are set to begin at 12pm, but their operation heavily relies on the weather.

These decisions were made with the health and safety of our people in mind.
