Our last Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of the year is different from all the others that we have held. This “Thanksgiving” clinic begins on Monday not Tuesday. The clinic will have cat and small dog surgeries (15 lbs. or less) the first day and cats only on the second day. All pet owners willing to travel to the Hardy Civic Center are welcome. Please note dog surgeries begin after the cat surgeries are completed. This can sometimes require late afternoon or early evening retrievals of your pup, depending on how the day goes. We will be scheduling 100 surgeries the first day and 50 the second.

We were grateful and fortunate enough to receive a Giving Tree Grant from Sharp County Community Foundation this year and wanted to pass on that gift to residents of Sharp County. We are hoping that those who might be tight on funds will now have the ability to get their cat or dog spay/neutered. Please inquire about the $25 coupons when scheduling your surgery.

We are thrilled that Centennial Bank has provided us with funding as a repeat sponsor of our clinics. We would love for one other business to graciously provide the remaining monies to complete our rental fees, if at all possible.

Scheduling begins November 9th.

The October clinic was a great success with 169 animals spayed/neutered. The days are long and somewhat tedious, but our long-term team has become a well-oiled machine and runs with efficiency and a strong commitment to the welfare of the animals in our care.

Cynde, Lori, and Jill meet, greet and ensure we have all the information needed for each pet’s surgery and aftercare. Becky and Carol are our dog “experts” with Daisy lending a hand too. Candice, Aniah, Maggie and Daisy take exemplary care of the cats. Catherine has taken on the role of lunch pickup and launderer. We go through quite a lot of towels in the cat room and light blankets, ensuring crates can be covered to quiet the dogs and create a cavelike environment for the cats when they become mobile after recovery. Catherine also volunteered to create washable, soft and cushiony, crate mats for pet owner’s cat crates. What a great idea, don’t you think?!

We were blessed with a wonderful lunch on Tuesday from the ladies of the Hardy Methodist Church. Some of us opted to have the delicious leftovers for the next few days, too vs. the restaurant and fast food options.

We were so thankful that Fran West - Video Real Estate Agency and GSA Transport graciously sponsored the rental of the Hardy Civic Center, enabling us to use the $5 hosting fees from the clinic to assist pet owners that need a little extra help with their surgery costs, whether at this clinic, a future clinic, or outside of the clinic when we work with disabled, veterans, seniors and low income families.

And finally, a huge “Thank You” to the team of Ozark Mountain Spay/Neuter - Dr. McManus, Matt and John. This group travels to so many areas of Arkansas, enabling an affordable option to pet owners that might otherwise not be financially able to have their animals spayed/neutered. We so appreciate all that they do!

Enjoy a glimpse of some of the pets that we were delighted to meet and care for, even if only for a day. And remember…..”Stop the Storm” by promoting Spay/Neuter and financially supporting your friends and neighbors that might need your help so that they too can “do the right thing.”

Today’s the day to come meet your next beloved pup! Stop by the Hardy Civic Center anytime between 8:00- 2:00! Pups are from ICARE with an adoption fee of only $25 for October. They have had all their puppy shots, only need rabies and are all spayed/neutered.

These ICARE 3 month old, beagle/border collie mix pups are looking for their forever loving homes, have all been all spayed/neutered through ICARE and will be available for you to visit at the Thursday Spay/Neuter Clinic in Hardy from 8:00 - 2:00. The black and white pup with the gray spotted white muzzle is the only male, the others are all females. If you would like to meet one of these precious pups, please feel free to stop by the Hardy Civic Center and ask for Becky. ICARE special adoption fee of $25 for October!
