In the 1990's she was very involved in The Ozaukee County Humane Society which is now one of the three campuses of The Wisconsin Humane Society. The Martha Decker Fund for Animals was established in 2012 through a bequest from her estate and continues today as a 501(c)3 non-profit to help with spay funding and bettering the lives of animals in the Tri-County area of Izard, Fulton, and Sharp Counties. There is a very special group of people we would like to say “Thank You” to in our final post as The Martha Decker Memorial Fund for Animals. These are the hundreds and hundreds of you who have spayed your dogs using our Spay Vouchers. You know the importance of Spay/Neuter and that it is the absolute answer to the Pet Overpopulation.

♥️When you spayed your dog using our “Mom’s Spay Day Voucher” and our “Queen For a Day” voucher for the Big Ladies, you guaranteed there would be “No More Litters”.
♥️When we asked you to “Spay Your Pit Bull” because there are so many found in shelters and abandoned, you responded immediately and often.
♥️When we introduced “The Homeless Dog Project” you often went above and beyond to help that homeless dog who showed up at your house and gave these “Second Chance” dogs a new start at a loving home.
♥️When we added a “Veteran’s Dog Spay”, you reached out to us, and we were able to help some of you many veterans living in the Tri-County area spay your beloved friends.
♥️When we pleaded “No Seniors in Shelters” you all helped, shared, and became involved in finding loving, caring homes for the Old Ones.

We enjoyed each and every phone call, email, message and text with you, and the endless pictures you would send of your dogs until we found just the right one to use in our posts.

We never could have done any what we did all these years without you. . .People who love and care for their dogs and who know spaying your dog is the answer to the pet overpopulation. . . .and We will be forever grateful. And forever Thankful that you helped us with “No More Litters”.

There are wonderful organizations now providing spay/neuter assistance in the Tri-County area. Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animals and Izard County Animal Rescue Effort (ICARE) have voucher programs. Stop the Cycle Spay/Neuter Assistance Group provide vouchers and also periodically put on spay/neuter clinics. It's Raining Cats and Dogs also have clinics. All have pages. Please reach out to them for spay/neuter assistance.

♥️Thank You. . .It has always been our pleasure to help.

🥶Are you ready for this? MOST modeling continues to show a BIG change to cold air in the long range. All of the major signals are lining up to deliver significant rounds of arctic air and when arctic air is in place, anything can happen?❄️?

***DISCLAIMER*** Specific timing and strength of the cold air can not be determined at this time. However, the upcoming pattern is how you get these types of air masses into the United States.

Great Idea! Share those New Year Treats with an “Over New Year’s Foster”. Read about Paw Control of Cherokee Village plan for your New Year Eve!

CVAC will be closed from 12:00 on Monday, Dec 30th to Jan 2nd. But we would like to offer the chance to start the “New Year/New Me resolutions” through fostering a furry friend over the holiday. Ringing in the new year with a CVAC dog by your side - because what's a little champagne and confetti when you can have slobbery kisses and snuggles? So, trade in your party hat for a p**p bag, and get ready for a holiday celebration that's truly off the chain!
You have Friday or Monday morning to come out and meet a holiday friend. The great thing about short term fostering is YOU get to see a dog’s behavior out of the shelter. YOU get to share that info with us. YOU get to greatly increase a dog’s chance of adoption simply through a short term fostering.
Call CVAC at 870 994-4445 to ask about a 3 night foster opportunity. We can help with needed supplies.

With the end of 2024 approaching, there are a few “Thank You’s” we want to say before we close The Martha Decker Fund.
From our very first voucher program, “Mom’s Spay Day”, we have been so fortunate to be able to work with some outstanding vet clinics. As we would add more voucher programs, they would always say “Yes”. When we had a question, they were there for us. There are three we would like to say a very special “Thank You”.
All Creatures Veterinary Hospital, Thousand Hills Veterinary Service, and North Arkansas Veterinary Clinic.
We appreciate them. We could not have done it without their continual help.
