Our Scouts recently had an awesome time exploring the fire station, checking out the gear, and learning how our first responders keep our community safe. A huge thank you to the Chatham Fire Department for welcoming us, giving such a great tour, and for everything you do every day to protect our community.

We’re grateful for your service, and our Scouts had a blast! 👏💙

This Veterans Day, Pack 79 was proud to serve our chartered organization, Chatham-Auburn Memorial VFW Post 4763, by helping with the annual Buddy Poppy drive, bussing tables at the Veterans Day Breakfast along with Troop 97, and attending the Chatham Veterans Day Ceremony to pay tribute to those who served our nation.

Through service and remembrance, our Scouts learn what it truly means to live the Scout Oath and Law. Thank you to all the veterans who have served and continue to inspire the next generation. ❤️🤍💙

Today, Scouts, families, veterans, and community members gathered for a group photo in support of this year’s Wreaths Across America effort here in Chatham.

We came together to show our commitment to honoring every veteran laid to rest in our community’s cemeteries. On December 13th, we will return to place wreaths, speak their names, and ensure their service is never forgotten. 🌲❤️

👏 Congratulations to the 24 participants who completed this year’s Wood Badge 6-144-25 course! Over two weekends, these Scouters sharpened their axe not only in Scouting but in life.

Pack 79 is especially proud that one of our own leaders was among this year’s participants. Over the next 18 months, he will be working on his Wood Badge “ticket” — a series of goals designed to strengthen both our Pack and Scouting as a whole.

REMINDER: Our annual children’s bicycle rodeo is this Wednesday from 5pm - 7pm at the Chatham Area Public Library. There will be a TON of fun activities there for the kiddos. Check them all out on the flyer below.

This past weekend, leaders from Cub Scout Pack 79 — both past and present — joined leaders from other Scouting units in attending Wood Badge training. Wood Badge is Scouting’s premier leadership course, and we’re proud of our volunteers who continue to grow their skills to better serve our Scouts and community. Thank you to all our leaders for your dedication and commitment to making Scouting strong in Chatham!
