We will NOT have StudentLife Programming tomorrow night. Stay home and stay safe!

Due to the dangerous weather forecast our building will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 25th. Please join us on-line for worship at 9 or 10:30am. On-line services will be posted normally and links can be found at springfieldfirst.org/athome.

All activities in the building have been cancelled for Sunday. Please be safe and pray for all those adversely affected by this weather event.

Regular confirmation classes begin this Thursday night at 6:00PM! As part of our programming, we are seeking to provide dinner to our students and leaders each week. StudentLife is back! Here are a few updates for the week!

Our cooking class for Wednesday, January 7 has been canceled. However, put January 21 on your calendar for the first StudentLife Cooking Class of 2026.

On Thursday, students in 8-12th grade and their parents are invited to an informational Confirmation Parent/Student Meeting in Room 8. Dinner will be provided as we go over what confirmation is, what should be expected, and get to know one another as we prepare for this journey ahead!

On Friday night, join us for FamilyLife Movie Night at Springfield First at 6:30PM! Snacks are provided!

And finally, StudentLife Sunday Nights are back! Join us Sunday in Room 8 from 4:45-7PM for dinner, worship, games, and fellowship! Hope to see you there!

We are excited to announce that beginning in January 2026, we will be offering our next confirmation class.

Confirmation is a significant milestone in the life of a student. It is a time set aside for them to make their faith their own-to wrestle with big questions, explore what it means to follow Jesus, understand the beliefs of the church, and discover how faith shapes everyday life!

Confirmation is open to students in grades 8-12 with classes beginning January 8, 2026. On this night, we will be having a parent/student meeting where we will discuss the purpose and vision of the class, walk through schedules and expectations, introduce our leaders, and answer any questions you might have to get ready for the months ahead! Dinner will be provided!

Classes will be mainly on Thursday nights from 6-8PM with dinner included. Confirmation will conclude in late April! Our class will include teaching, small groups, discussion, hands on activities, and a few fun field trips!

We are so excited to walk through this upcoming season with our students and their families. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for our students as they learn, grow, and take ownership of their faith!

Check out what is happening this week in StudentLife!

On Wednesday we will have our final homework hour of the semester. Please note the time change from 6 to 6:30 as Christmas play rehearsal doesn’t conclude until 6:30PM! The Counter will be open! Come start studying for those finals!

On Thursday, high schoolers are invited to join us at Culver’s for our high school small group. We will have conversations and custard! Join us as we talk about the advent season from 7-8PM!

Sunday is a big day for StudentLife! Join us at 4pm in the sanctuary at Springfield First for the performance of Carol of the Toys, a heartwarming Christmas musical! Many of our students (and future students) are in this production and would love to see you there! There is no charge for this performance!

Also on Sunday, we will have regular StudentLife programming. Please note we will begin at 5PM instead of 4:45PM! We will adjust the time as needed be so those involved in the Christmas musical have time to get settled before StudentLife begins!

We had a blast making Mac and cheese tonight for our Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday! Shoutout to Chef Mel for teaching us the ropes!

On Wednesday evening from 6-7:30PM, Students are invited to join Chef Mel for cooking class! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? We will be preparing Mac and cheese for our Thanksgiving dinner this weekend! Come learn from the best!

On Thursday, high schoolers are invited to join Natalie at Culver’s from 7-8PM for Bible study and small group! This is our last small group before we break for Thanksgiving!

On Friday, we will be hosting a movie night! Join us for a night on the Polar Express! Come in your PJ’s and bring all things cozy. Snacks and a hot chocolate bar are provided! All the fun starts at 6:30PM!

On Sunday, one of our favorite events is happening. Our StudentLife Family Thanksgiving Dinner will take place at Springfield First from 5-7PM! We will come together for an intimate time of worship, reflection, and communion before joining in a meal together. Students in 6-12th grade AND their families are invited to attend! We’ll provide the meats, please bring a side or dessert to share! We cannot wait to come together this Sunday!

Last night at StudentLife we took a look at Luke 1:26-56. We saw how sometimes God calls us to believe first in order to see things down the line. In the world of faith, believing is seeing God at work in our lives and the lives of those around us.

One of our favorite traditions in StudentLife is our annual Family Thanksgiving Meal. Students in grades 6-12 AND their families are invited to join us for a night of food, fellowship, and reflection as we come together for a Thanksgiving meal. We’ll provide the meat, feel free to bring a side or dessert. Join us from 5-7PM on November 23!
