Meetings are held monthly September through May, except January. They are generally a noon luncheon or tea and sometimes an evening session.

Community Commitments: Adopt-a-City Flower Bed, Annual High School Senior Tea, Scholarships to Charlotte High School Seniors, Arts & Nursing Scholarships, SIREN Holiday Tea, Charlotte Community Library, City Beautification The location varies within the city. BUILD A SNOWMAN COMMUNITY EVENT
Saturday, November 28, 2026
10:00 a.m. – Noon: Snowman Set-up
Sponsored by GFWC – Charlotte

WHAT: We would like community participation to fill the 21 flower urns downtown with snowmen/women created by you!
The first 21 entries will be displayed in the urns. Any additional entries will be displayed on the Old Courthouse grounds.
WHO: You can do this as a family, a business, a Boy or Girl Scout troop, an organization or even a group of friends.
HOW: They don’t have to be made from snow; use your imagination! They can be made at home and brought downtown on November 29 between 10:00 a.m. and noon for set-up.
WHEN: Details regarding size and specifications will be sent to you by emailing [email protected] Contact Sherry soon because 11 urns have already been assigned.

Directions: Drive out N. Cochran past Packard Highway and Hope Landing. Turn right on the first road, which is Parkland Drive in the Samuel A. Combs Industrial Park. Then turn left on the first drive which leads to Forest Garden and the ball field

GFWC-Charlotte book club, Tea & Tomes, will meet Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in the Spartan Room at Charlotte Community Library at 12:45 p.m. to discuss The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.

This group of ladies started out as a book club in 1887 and continues with Tea & Tomes which discusses a book each month from September to May except for December. Members can also join Epsilon Sigma Omicron and be recognized for the number of books they read. You must be a member of GFWC-Charlotte to attend.

19th Annual Holiday Tea
a major joint fundraiser benefiting SIREN/Eaton Shelter and GFWC-Charlotte!

- Date: Sunday, November 15th
- Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Location: St. Mary Parish Hall, Charlotte

- $12 per individual ticket
- $96 for a table of 8

Your ticket includes:

- Light lunch
- Live entertainment
- Silent auction featuring holiday gifts, home decor, and more and Super Raffle (prizes include a Lottery Tree, an English Inn dinner and stay package, and other gift bundles). Cash, Check, or Credit Card
- Table decorating competition and judging for Most Creative, Seasonal Favorite, Most Elegant, and People’s Choice

About the Beneficiaries:

- SIREN/Eaton Shelter: Provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, a 24-hour crisis line, support groups, and essentials to homeless families, disabled individuals, and survivors of domestic violence.
- GFWC-Charlotte: Serving the Charlotte community for over 138 years through local initiatives such as Mobile Meals, high school scholarships, city beautification, and literacy programs.
